Chris Paul to the Rockets - Beverly is off the table

I still can't believe people are willing to trade crap for George when he already said he wants to go to LA. Indiana is no different than Utah when it comes to market value. I guess people here want us to be the nets for the next 8 years when we trade all our picks for a 1 year rental

Houston got the worse end in my opinion. They get an expiring older star, lose a young player in Decker and next year's first, and are still stuck with Anderson.

That is before considering - only one ball...

What are you talking about? The dude just took a massive pay cut and injury risk to go there. He's going to make $22 mil instead of signing a deal worth somewhere around $180 mil. That doesn't spell one year rental, it tells you he wants to win.

Also, weren't you the one saying Beverly plays just as good of defense? So what. CP3 has been on the all defensive 1st team several years and also has the offense to go with it. He shredded Utah in the playoffs.

I officially hate the NBA. Utah has better assets to offer and a better situation. Why the hell wouldn't CP3 want to come hear instead of there? The NBA is the only major sport where players punish small market teams. The population of Green Bay metro is a whopping 300,000.

Can and would are different... they aren't all late firsts too. You willing to send Favs (for salary) the Okc pick, Our pick next year and a 2020 pick for PG with no guarantee he stays?

Also, have to get a firm commit from Hayward too before the deal. We might do that deal, but its questionable... beating it going away would include Hood/Exum too. You doing that if you are DL? Its questionable.

You don't need to send Favs for salary we have Burks and Diaw on the roster. Maybe the Jazz do or don't have the young players and picks ro get it done but salary wouldn't be a problem.

I don't think the Jazz wanted to invest in CP3 long term, but otherwise I agree with Franklin. Feels like the NBA needed to do more to protect small market franchises in this latest CBA negotiations. A lot of people like super teams, but I think parity is better. Not sure if basketball ever figures that out. Kind of funny to see Mark Cuban's past comments about the NFL, and then he and his fellow NBA owners let the Warriors happen. . .

To pile on the players, GMs, etc. are all tampering... no way this gets done without all that going on. Maybe if Hayward would recruit we'd be better... Players are the new GMs.

Agreed. Teams, GMs AND players need to have fines start happening due to offseason tampering. It's always been a problem, but man has it gotten bad lately.

They should do it like they do it in European soccer - let incumbent team negotiate extensions, new contracts etc. any time during the length of the contract. Let other teams negotiate with players 6 months before their contract is up.

That's fine... and I agree.
