Chris Paul to the Rockets - Beverly is off the table

In Adrian Wojnarowski story on trade he says Harden and Paul had been discussing playing together.

I like this for Clippers. I like both Beverly and Dekker.

Remember, Jerry West is now with the Clips.

Agreed. That's why I'm still holding out hope that they make it happen. Plus, they still have assets and exceptions to fill out a solid bench. My biggest concern is what to do at PF if they include Favors in any sort of trade.

Exum, Mitchell, Diaw, both next year picks.

That's 4 first round picks, at least 2 lottery, spaced well. As well as an expiring that will have value at the deadline. I'm not sure anybody's going to be willing to beat that. I also think that the Jazz don't need these guys. I don't think that losing them sets the Jazz back horribly even if Paul George turned out to only be a rental.

Chris Paul, James Harden, Ryan Anderson and Capella do not scare me one bit. IF IF IF they get Paul George, they might be good. Until then, they will leverage the future for a shot with an old team. This reminds me of the Nets.

Reality check. The Rox finished ahead of us last year, just upgraded their starting point guard spot in a big way, and have made a WCF in the last few years unlike us.

Burks, Hood and draft picks beat anything the Rockets can come up with. As a fan though, I'd love a little recklessness from the Jazz front office. Pull the pin on the hand grenade and hope to throw the mother before it explodes.
Love this post.

Oh **** that. I'd rather blow it up this year and start over than pay that much for PG to bolt next year.

I'd be praying that they took it.

Hill
Hayward
George
Favors
Gobert

Still have Ingles, Hood, and JJ
Add some MLE guys, put Bradley on the fast track

That team has a real shot at knocking off the Warriors. Tons of talent. Tons of height. That team curb stomps the NBA.

Going to agree with Cappy. Don't like this trade at all for the Jazz, even though I agree that those pieces < PG13. I'd keep one of Hood/Exum and use Mitchell to replace whichever gets traded in the lineup. Everything else needs to be expendable. Burks/Favors/Diaw for salary matching purposes. The 2018 draft picks to add value to the deal. Jazz have options to put a quality deal together.

DL said they are more traditional when asked about the CP3 trade... basically I think we need to think smaller when talking trades.

Huh?

I didn't include Hood

No you didn't, but you had Mitchell in there. I'd go with Exum or Hood as the trade's centerpiece, but keep Mitchell to replace whichever guy gets traded. I don't trade one of those guys plus Mitchell. That was my issue with the deal. Hell, ideal trade is Favors, Burks and multiple 1st round picks. Clear out some cap space, keep all of the young guys rights (in case PG splits next year) and then just figure out how to solve the starting PF problem. I just don't think that would be enough to get the Pacers interested though.

Rumours spread that Doc and Chris recently were in a dispute over adding Carmelo Anthony to the team.

Meanwhile, Houston continues to acquire waivable contracts. And rumours suggest NY Knicks are still trying to move Anthony.
