On the eve of the crazy few days that are about to ensue, let's step back and look at our two stars.

Fortunately I feel confident that we will be able to have both on our team going forward . . . what a luxury with two top tier players. But this does help crystallize how valuable you believe each player is.

Make your choice and give your rationale. In today's NBA who of the two would you choose to build your team around?

My logic is simple: it's easier to find a star SF than a star center in this league.

Yeah. Rudy has a much more unique set of physical attributes and skills than Gordon does. So even if Gordon is the better player right now (which might be true, but is open for debate), he is much more replaceable than Rudy.

Agreed. Gordon is unarguably more talented than Rudy is at this point, but Rudy's impact reaches far deeper into this team, and opposing teams' game plans than Gordon's.

This isn't really a question. Rudy is #1 at his position, while Hayward is what, 4th or 5th?

Rudy is one of the most impactful players in the league. Having him on the defensive end is like having the leading scorer offensively. He changes the way entire offenses operate. Gordon is a very good 2-way player, but Rudy is the guy you must keep at all costs.

Neither is an MVP candidate. You can't "build a team around" either one of them, you can build a team around both of them. If either is the undisputed man on your team then your team doesn't have enough talent.
