Not sure if Chicago is wanting to get rid of Wade anymore now that free agency is mostly over but if they are wanting to salary dump him would they include Mirotic in a sign and trade to get rid of him?
Favor's, Burk's and Diaw for Wade and Mirotic. I would be okay with that deal.

Besides Wade's could teach the young guys something and his contract might be somewhat valuable at the trade deadline. Although that's why Chicago might just hang on to him since they have nothing else to spend their cap on.

Mirotic was in the doghouse before the playoffs. Not sure Chicago is very high on him.

Well, the Jazz have been pretty mum about his injuries over the last year. So we don't really know what was wrong/to what extent. I'm sure the team doctors have a good handle on his injuries and what the likelihood of him getting and staying at 100% are.

So if they feel like he his healthy and it won't be a recurring injury, I would be happy to extend him for a reasonable price. My only issue with Favors is I have always wanted to see more passion/fire, but key has been a very good player outside of last season. I don't know who the Jazz could get that would replace his talent (if healthy).

Jazz should definitely be pursuing him. He is one of the best options to put next to Gobert. He is the right age and the right type of player. You have to hope that a new situation helps him a little and that our staff/system can help him as well.

Maybe the Jazz should just make him an offer but my guess is it gets matched if reasonable.

Do you understand that Diaw and Favors will almost certainly be gone next summer? This is exactly what I said last year about Hayward and everybody is feeling the sting of losing him for nothing. Small franchises have to get value for guys they know will leave.

So Favors can help get us to the 7th or 8th seed this season or get us a Kuzma, Bryant, Randle, or future pick who can be here longer and take us further. We don't have the money or appeal to sign a big free agent. We have to generate talent through a trade or finding a needle in the haystack overseas, late in the draft or in the GLeague.

And we are supposed to give up a serviceable player who may or may not leave. If the Jazz trade for Deng they are not giving up ANYTHING of ANY value. Nothing. If they trade for Deng they are giving up a late 2nd round pick and getting a king's ransom to take on that albatross.

Otherwise there is no point in taking on his contract.

I don't believe the Jazz should trade for Deng.

I don't think I'd like the idea of Mitchell and Hood stuck on the bench behind Wade. And I don't think the Jazz would be excited about that idea either.

I don't think I'd like the idea of Mitchell and Hood stuck on the bench behind Wade. And I don't think the Jazz would be excited about that idea either.

I doubt the Bulls would go for it but if they did we dont have to play Wade in front of those guys. Also I would rather Mitchell earn playing time anyways. It wont set him back if he doesnt play a ton of minutes, no reason to clear room for him. If he is really good then he will get minutes, if he needs to develop then taking time to learn the game and earn minutes will be good for him. Besides there would be enough minutes to go around. Wade could start next to Hood and have Exum, Mitchell and Ingles come off the bench for one hell of a second unit.

This team would be really good if we could do it:

Rubio/Exum/Neto
Wade/Mitchell
Hood/Inlges
Favors/Mirotic
Gobert/Favors/Bradley

Plus we clear plenty of salaries off the books.

Yeah, I know they were wanting to get rid of him when he first opted in but I dont see them caring now. I guess the only reason would be so the could tank better and let the young guys play more. Wades contract could be valuable to them at the trade deadline though. A playoff team might want him and a few teams will want to dump a long term salary player for him to clear space for the next free agency.

Sure we could. You are absolutely right. I just think that Randle, Kuzma, Bryant and a pick is better value than we would find anywhere else.

But good point though. If Favors and Diaw can get us better elsewhere, I'm all for it.
