What's new

Is it time for the NBA to expand?

I've heard a lot of talk of Mexico City being a market the NBA wants to get in on, but likely on the second round of expansion, and not this next one.

Mexico City market is nearly as large as new York, like 30 million people. But the infrastructure is just not ready.

It's not that far, but travelling from the airport to the arena takes hours.

Are there no smaller airports by the arena?

You ever played basketball? 3-on-3 is boring.

I would much rather play 1/2 court three on three. Unless its well organized full court turns into garbage basketball. I have no interest in jogging up and down the court. I would rather actually do the fun part.

I definitely prefer watching full court 5 on 5 basketball though.

3v3 is so much better! I don't play full court with random people if I can help it. Just running and back and forth while everyone is chucking.

3v3 basketball is literally one of my favorite things in life. It annoys me that one day I'll be too old to do it.

I just saw an 80 year old man walking out of a gym with his wife decked out in basketball clothes with his ball under his arm and sweaty. I thought to myself that I really hope he just schooled some kids at the gym.

I wish I knew a good place to play basketball at. I refuse to play at Vasa/gold's gym type places. I can't handle all the douche bags.

Weird. I hate playing half court. Running and playing in the open court is the fun part. I guess if you play with bums it sucks.

Don't you live in SLC?

I'm sure there are a ton of places.

Half court sucks ***. It favors people who are fat and out of shape since there is practically no difference between defensive and offensive rebounding.

Transition is only fun when there are defenders. It's either 5 on 5 full court or 3 on 3 half court for me. There is just too much space in 3 on 3 fullcourt.

Well yeah, obviously. No one I know plays 3-on-3 full court.

Mexico City isn't that far away from most NBA cities.....

Miami is a NBA team and it's much further away from most NBA cities than Mexico City is.

9 million people (giant market waiting to be taken advantage of) live in Mexico City (at least). It's not one giant ghetto like your ignorant *** thinks.

"Omg the country isnt mostly white it must be dangerous"

Do you have a ****ing clue about what's been going on in parts of Mexico for what seems like almost a decade now and how it's gotten worse?

This wouldn't be me and my wife going out in the daytime to MC tourist attractions. This would be millionaire athletes in a major city where the cartels or others could extort and/or kidnap and/or do worse to them. It's not too tough to imagine what could happen there. But yeah, I'm the ignorant one. Go get a ****ing clue, dumbass.
