Jazz vs Suns - Tonight 7 PM MST

at least as of the first three games, if Bolomboy doesn't make the team, the pre-season is a huge joke in terms of giving guys a chance to show they deserve a spot. people keep singing O'Neale's praises, but he wasn't in the same stratosphere as Bolomboy tonight.

12 pts, 6 rebs, in 8 minutes. crazy. continuing to knock down the three - just as you want your 4 to be able to do.

CY says he ain't a 4. I'm still waiting for confirmation on his official position.

I've seen him listed as a center/forward, so maybe he is one of those rare center/small forward combos.

Just because you can shoot 3's doesnt make you a PF. He is a severely undersized energy 5 who can sometimes shoot 3's (I dont trust his shot, sorry). He can barely dribble, is often out of control when he tries to do anything that requires thought, has clunky footwork guarding on the perimeter, and can't pass. He is a 5.

Lol. Who gives a **** what he is. Or what anybody is for that matter. Can they play? Can they help the team? Nothing else matters.

Lmao.

I don't know if his shot can be trusted or not, but if it ends up that he can shoot 3's and do a decent job defending PFs, then labeling him a center is ****ing silly. #PositionlessBasketball

Anyway, I'm not going to pretend I know exactly who/what he is in this league, as we haven't seen enough for me to say one way or the other. I'll leave the pretending to be an expert on every single player up to you.

Carry on.

He is athletic, strong, versatile, and maybe a good three point shooter? Hell, I would role dice on him.

I like Royce too, and Cy might very well end up being right, but it seems like finding a big that can shoot 3's has been more difficult than finding another wing. I haven't paid a lot of attention to watching Bolomboy play defense, so it will be really interesting to me to see who is cut. Seattle made a good point that it would kinda suck if a guy plays as well as Bolomboy has and still gets the ax.

Royce O'Neale type players are a dime a dozen. Bolomboys are not. Joel could still bust, but if he pans out he's a lot more valuable than Royce.

Bolomboy just has to rebound, defend, and hit that open J. He's been doing that so far in pre-season. Summer League was a fluke, this is the real Bolomboy.
Don't give up on him yet bitches!

I'm sorry to keep harping on the same thing but - Rubio doesn't work with this system. We either need to change it or I don't see us being even a moderately successful offense with him on the floor. Thibs tried to run a very similar system with Rubio giving up the ball and staying in the corner some and Minny were horrible while they were utilizing that system... toward the end of the year they gave Rubio the ball and it worked wonders for their team and they started winning games. Quin needs to do it and needs to do it ASAP(as in before the regular season starts). I know it's not easy to change the whole offensive system in a couple of weeks, but he better start now than wait for 1-2 months and then have to do it during the season.

I like you, stitches. Definitely one of the best-informed posters and you add a lot. But I think I can speak for all and say "We've heard you"... and you weren't the first to say it.

He's an undersized 4, if you reckon he's a 5, the comparison would be he's a destitute man's Sam Perkins.

What I think should happen in light of the Exum injury is to either start AB or sub out Ingles early. If the plan is to give the backup PG minutes to Mitchell, he needs some support. We expect Mitchell to be Spiderman when he's all of a sudden thrust into a role he was not prepared for? Ingles played some PG last season. He's a good ballhander. So make sure his minutes coincide with Mitchell's.

Wolters can be brought up for a maximum of 45 days. After that, Utah would either need to release him or sign him to the 15-man roster. If Exum is out for the season, maybe the Jazz trade for a PG, or sign someone who gets cut. In that case, both O'Neale AND Bolomboy could get released. What's the deal with 2-ways. Is it possible to keep Wolters for 45 days, release him and then sign another PG to a 2-way contract and do the same?

This.
Worst thing about Boris imo

But does Udoh have the Diaw spin move - the one that takes about 5 seconds to complete and looks like a Sumo wrestler trying to clear a path to the buffet counter?

Sorry everyone. I should apologize for "fat shaming."

I would concede if I thought Bolomboy could guard 4's, but I don't think he can. His lateral speed is poor given his size and his footwork is wonky when guarding on the perimeter. I could be wrong on that though.

Lol.
