Rudy Gobert has got to go

Favors has never been a beast. Ever.

Favors and Gobert do not work together. I swear, some of your are Favors' cousins or something. The guy is so incredibly average.

Beast is pretty arbitrary. He did have two really good seasons in a row averaging 16 and 8 in the slowest offense in the NBA before getting hurt. Those averages on a an average pace NBA team would have been pretty close to 20-10. PER 100 possessions his best year he put up 27.6 points and 14.1 rebounds on 52.5% shooting. That was a really solid year. It would have been an all-star year in the East. For comparison your favorite dude Millsap best year is 27.1 points and 12.8 rebounds on 46% shooting when he was 2 years older than Favors is currently.

I know you dislike and want to bag on Favors but he isnt the root of all our problems like you think. Do I wish he was better? Of course. Did his injuries set his career back a bit? Yes.
Is he our worst starter? No.

People get wrapped around in it's either this or that and nothing in between. Was AK an absolute beast for 1 year of his career at age 22 with the Jazz? Absolutely. He had a unique talent unlike anyone who, at that point, played the game. Did AK end up being a disappointment after signing his max deal. Yes, yes he absolutely did.

It's not one or the other, guys. Dat polarizing partisan 2017 mentality doe.

You are right with the part I fixed.

Before anyone bites my head off, hear me out...

I used to be the biggest Gobert fan. Great defensive presence, passion, etc. Now that he was injured for a couple games and back, you can really see how much better the jazz play without him on the floor.

While he was injured the jazz were scoring in triple digits every night and blowing teams away by 15+ points, since he has been back we've been losing.

It's so clear to see. When he's in the game, the jazz struggle offesnively, he's so big that he clogs the middle. when he has the ball he has no finess and zero fundamental skills for a big man. without him the offense seems fluid, efficient, fast, fun to watch. with him in the game slows down, these days the nba doesn't use big man like when we had malone and mark eaton.

i really also saw favors shine at center while gobert was out. what do you all think? i know we could have beat the past 3 teams if gobert was out, i know it.

thanks fellow jazz brothers and sisters. Go Jazz

Gobert is rated 39th in overall NBA PER. Our win % not only doubles when he is on the court, but we are shown his absolute true value. Gobert is a beast and you as well as this thread are a mistake.

Though the premise of the OP is ridiculous, the Jazz still have the same problems that many pointed out: Rubio, Favors and Gobert shouldn't be playing together. Jazz are back to struggling against teams they should be beating by 30 pts because Bricky is no longer shooting lights out. Favors and Gobert are both 5's. Either can be effective inside, but both together is not a good combination.

pretty sure he forgot to write “to the hall of fame”

Nah, I still think Gobert is certainly not untouchable. The Jazz have played much better since his return though. How dare I make assessments based off of reality during the time when the Jazz were playing terrible and had one if the worst lineups in the NBA. Even with Gobert playing this well, the Jazz are not a playoff team at this point. Would I trade him still? Only if the right pieces were offered - doesn't mean I'd want to. It's pretty simple, really

People get too caught up on being sooth sayers and predicting the future with fandom. Although that can be an important aspect to the NBA, so is living in the now.

Watching the Jazz make their improvements over this year is really testament to Synder's coaching.

Here's the thing. The Jazz aren't the Warriors. Yes, We've had some amazing wins this year by huge margins. But that isn't the norm, and shouldn't be, for a team constituted like ours. Sometimes the worst teams in the league get blown out by 30, sometimes they hang close even against decent and good teams. Yes, the lineup could use some tweaks. But the idea that 30 point blowouts should be the standard needs to go away.

Lol @ people thinking I'm wrong for saying Gobert isn't a top 10 player in the NBA and he's not untouchable.

Dat homerism, doe.

Again, quote me where I said something wrong and I'll own it.
