elan_prodigy’s Case:

Here are my player expectations/predictions for 2018/19 season:

Starters:

CP3: Continue to do CP3 things. Was surprised how quickly he added the 3 ball to his game last season, expect similar season to 2018.

Klay: The most clutch warrior, Klay is in a contract year heading into UFA and will continue to show out.

Middleton: Increased opportunity will lead to increasing his numbers across the board this year.

Hayward: The traitor will be looking to have a resurgent year. Benedict is a perfect fit for the Celtics as a 3rd option who; buries 3's, facilitates, playmakes, defends and can get his own shot.

Cousins: Hope to have back by Allstar break but should be peaking for playoffs. Noel and Bell will fill the center spot until Boogie is healthy.

Bench:

Lonzo Ball: Big fan of Lonzo, didnt live up to lofty expectations in his rookie year but still showed signs of being the player he was hyped to be. I predict leap and to be in the running for MIP.

Markelle Fultz: Refer to video.

(watch from 1:20).

OG Anunoby: Under the tutor-ledge of Kawhi, I expect OG Anunoby to take his game to new heights on both ends of the floor. Could easily slide into my starting SF/PF spot depending on match ups.

Jordan Bell: Terrific defender, underrated. Expect to see him more this year and has the makings of a Draymond Green lite. Will play minutes at Center.

Nerlens Noel: I needed a rim runner, CP3 has made guys like Noel into borderline Allstars with the way he operates in the PnR and Noel has all the qualities to be exceptional next to a guy like CP3. I like the trade to OKC and expect good things from Noel. Tbh my team was built with a guy like Noel in mind to play as the starting Center with the idea being CP3 and Noel operate the PnR while Klay, Hayward and Middleton wait on the wings.

As far as the H2H matchup... I like my top end talent and versatility. Of the 10 roster spots, I think I would take my guy 9/10 times H2H.

tfivas’ Case:

n/a

None of’em are contenders. Fivas is a bit better. I skipped Cousins since he won’t be on the court for some time and he announced that his situation is much more laid back and they don’t necessarily need him in Golden State for success, that they can manage without him.

Holy ****, Elan's team is sooooo good, but he drafted Cousins then backed him up with Noel.

This is hard lmao.

Paul/Thompson/Middleton/Hayward might be the best 1-4 in this thing.

But then he drafted Cousins and an underwhelming bench.

I hate tfivas pairing CJ and Irving. Two super overrated score first guards who cant defend and just dance with the ball too much, but other than that his team is pretty good and he drafted maybe the best bench.

I dont how you can have so much love for Elans team. His 4 and 5 will not be right next year. Id bet anything Hayward and Cousins both come back shells of themselves. Cousins wont even play til late in the year. So 2 of his starters pretty much are a scratch from even mattering.

What Hayward did was not the same as Paul George. Not even close . PG had a clean break of a bone high above the ankle, and even then its a miracle he came back as good as he did. Hayward blew apart his whole ankle in more than one way. I will not be shocked to see Hayward missing games, play like **** most games, etc. Good luck exploding off that leg. He was already barely athletic. He maximized what god gave him as it was and still barely dunked the ball, and could barely shake dudes.

What? The guy dunked on Giannis.

Hayward has had a full year to recover. He is going to be fine next year. His was also a "clean break" as reported by doctors.

He's also had complications and had to have the screws removed recently and might not be ready at the start of the season. I bet he recovers all the way by the end of the season, but there's a question mark about his health until we see him on the floor.

And yeah, I know Cousins is a scratch. I think that's better though than having him play. I hate Cousins and I would count him as a bigger negative if he were playing. Elan's team has so much playmaking that playing through the post w/ Cousins would be a hindrance. I just wish he drafted better centers.

Noel could be solid next year. Bell is good as a backup. Anunuboy can probably play small ball 5 and give him dominant lineups like the Rockets did with PJ Tucker.

I'm not really scared of Embiid. The guy is overrated as hell. Super turnover prone and plays hero post ball with inefficient shots. He also has a huge injury history that's hard to ignore, so if we are playing the "What if this guy is injured come playoff time" game then yeah, that has to be a negative. I also don't know how he is going to interact with two ball dominant scoring guards after being spoiled by Ben Simmons passing ability and facilitating willingness.

I don't count up individual stats for these things. To me talent and team construction (specifically how those top guys fit together) are the most important things followed by lineup versatility and bench. I think Elan has the more top tier talent and his talent fits better. The big issues for him is that he could have done better at center and off the bench and that's where Tfivas did well.

And the guy who has played 94 out of a possible 328 regular season games doesnt have a health question mark?

Whos' that? Embiid? He's not coming off an injury tho. I assume he's healthy for the vote. Hayward will probably be at 100% by the time the playoffs roll around tho. I can't say the same about Cousins, who might not fully recover next season, if ever.

Irving also missed the last half of the season and had knee surgery.
