2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

Favors Rubio and a protected first for Griffin. What do you think?

Pistons might be glad to get Rubio. Not sure they'd view it as enough of an upgrade to mitigate what seems to be a not-very-ideal Favors/Drummond pairing.

Not sure generally that two teams that badly need more shooters are ideal trade partners. But the upgrade to Griffin could work from the Jazz perspective (if the brass is persuaded that the cultural fit will work -- I don't know that Griffin is enough of an upgrade to ignore cultural fit).

Not trade deadline but interesting.

Wonder if he gives up some dough and is bought out... I think they may have been holding him out saying he’s not cleared for insurance money. Weird deal.

If he gets bought out and wants to come over at the minimum it might be worth a shot... but dude is almost surely broken permanently.

Yeah, a minimum, team option deal is pretty risk free. If we were to do some other deal where we send out more players than we receive, could be worth a conversation.

I actually wouldn't trade Rubio in a deal for Blake because Blake is the type PF which takes the pressure off of Rubio. This team needs either an upgrade at PG (if Rubio and Exum can neither provide better, consistent play) OR dynamic scoring from PF.

We would likely have to waive Tony Bradley or Georges Niang in any buy out deal since the Jazz are at 15 roster spots, and I'm not really sure waiving one of those guys for Parsons - a guy who has been medically cleared since mid-late December but hasn't got a game - is really worth it to be honest.

If he was the last buy out target available and you were confident in him being able to provide a consistent 15 minutes a night then maybe you do it but there's too many red flags around him in general for me to give up on one of the younger guys for half a season of him to be honest. Think there will be better buyout targets available.

Yes u would put Rubio in the deal to trade for blake. Blake is a great player. And Dante needs to start

Detroit doesn't want Rubio. They would only trade Blake if they are tanking and want to get off his deal. So there is no reason to include Rubio if we don't have to.

Favors, Thabo, Neto, Bradley/Niang/Grayson and a 1st

Focusing on the Bucks game tomorrow for now. If we win that, I’d be quite surprised and thrilled.
I've already got that pencilled in as a schedule loss (injured Jazz playing their 3rd game in 4 nights on the road against the team with the best net rating in the league) so I hold no expectations about that game. Would be a huge win on the road but it's unlikely.

Me either. I full expect us to lose by double digits. Maybe 15-20 even. But I’m excited at the possibility of Mitchell and Rubio turning it on and us turning a corner.

I thought we could definitely lose both games against Cleveland and Detroit. For whatever reason, I’m assuming we win in Milwaukee.
