A Couple of "Our" Players on the Transactions Thread

A couple of players showed up on the transactions thread yesterday who were Jazzmen at least for 5 minutes. Jarnell Stokes was waived and Isiah Whitehead was signed as a 2 way by Detroit. WWhitehead was traded for Marcus Paige and cash. I believe Stokes was traded for another 2nd round pick. Whitehead had some decent outings for the Nets. I noticed that Ainge has four 1st round picks in next year's draft. What is he going to do with them all.

Whitehead could be brought in for backup minutes at the point while the rest of our guards are out, but I like the stats being generated so Saint Cy can feel good as poster. It won't happen, but it wouldn't be the worst pickup imho. Probably better than MCW.

It seems like our front office talent evaluators miss more often than they hit on prospects. DM and Rudy are hits.

Cavanaugh should be let go and they should bring in someone that they'll actually use. Even if it's just 5,6 MPG.

No expectation of that happening though.

Joe Ingles and Royce O'Neale were scraped off of the refuse pile. Jazz talent evaluation is fine.

In the upper tier in the league in finding and developing talent. The nature of the game is a lot more misses than hits. We do fine.

Remember when JFC almost caught pure naked fire after DL sold the pick that ended up as Stokes? Remember how hysterical things got after Stokes had a few good summer league games?

Good times.

For the record Kyle Korver, Paul Millsap, Carlos Boozer, Byron Russell, Jeff Hornacek and Mehmet Okur were 2nd round picks.

Wes Matthews, Joe Ingles, Ben Wallace, Brad Miller, John Starks, and Bruce Bowen were undrafted, so we should be striking gold here soon.

The Willie Reed experiment is over as the Stars waived him with a season ending shoulder injury and replaced him with a guy that played college at Division 2. Also yesterday Eric Griffin signed with an Israeli team and the Austin Spurs dumped Oliver Hanlan. So the Stars played without Reed, Bradley, Naz and Cavanaugh and lost to Stockton at home.
