News, rumors and buzz around the draft and free agency

Rockets might actually be scary tbh. Westbrook is finally playing with things he's needed but never had: a good offensive system and three point shooters.

Their defense will be even worse tho

Have you ever watched Houston? Their system is give the ball to James Harden... how does that work with Westbrook.

Thunder ain't doing that charity work...

No way that **** gets bought out... then you can’t even trade it... it would be the dumbest thing ever. They will flip him to Miami for their bad contracts... that are a little shorter.

Umm I’m not so sure about that... they have some good players with health issues... if they are healthy I think they win close to 40 games. It is more likely that gallo or Paul get hurt but

CP
SGA
Gallo
Adams

That’s better than a few teams out west.

I just saw a report that CP won’t want to stay... maybe he’s Miami bound. Can’t think of other teams that would be in on that contract.
I could’ve seen Miami going for Westbrook, but why would they want Paul? I can’t think of any team that should want Chris Paul right now. I’ll be less than shocked if they trade Adams, Gallo and/or Schröder by the deadline. Turn the team over to the young guys and let the chips fall where they may. No point in reloading around their current veterans. That’s a sure-fire treadmill. Scuttle the ships and commit to the future. Especially with the new lottery odds.

Yeah, a buy out seems insane to me, why would OKC do that?

And then CP3 signing to the minimum for the Lakers, he's still worth a hell of a lot more than that.

I see Paul ($38.5) going to Miami for Dragic ($19.2) and James Johnson ($15.4).

Sure OKC doesn't get a pick, but they don't want to pay Paul anyway. Miami would. Kind of low risk for Miami. Paul, Butler, Herro, Winslow and Bam is pretty darn good.

Cuz the need talent and need to keep their low salary trade assets. Do you think Riley would rather have Dion waiters, James Johnson and Kelly olynyk or CP? Those deals have one less year and because they are smaller they are easier to trade separately... it’s a garbage for garbage trade.

I could see the Lakers trying to do some salary cap gymnastics after the waiting period ends for new signings to try to flip Green, KCP and others for him. . . but even then it’s still too much to work out a realistic trade.

I don’t see him ending up in LA.

Might need to add Patrick Patterson from OKC and Waiters from Miami to keep them from the hard cap.

Maybe, but they’re still hard capped because of the Jimmy Butler sign and trade. I think they have to give up more salary to pull it off.

Think OKC is going to push to get Winslow in that deal somehow. Maybe they’re hard up to get off the contract, but I think Miami can get better value for their contracts.

Say teams don’t want to offer up anything for Paul... look at those numbers... he can come in and be healthy for a few weeks some idiot will talk themselves into him.

Adding Roberson ($10.7) and Waiters ($12.1) makes it:

Paul ($38.5) and Roberson ($10.7)
for
Dragic ($19.2), Johnson ($15.4) and Waiters ($12.1)

$49.2 for $46.7

OKC gets out of luxury. Miami has to figure out how to cut the money to get under the hard cap.
