are those the actual chips? it just looks like pieces of kale - is this something you buy ready-made or do you make it yourself? Sold at the regular grocery store or only at a specialty place?

We've just gotten into kale this summer, I like to sauté it in olive oil with garlic and onion, and maybe some other veggies. It has a nice flavor.

The kale leaves ARE the chips. See here: https://allrecipes.com/Recipe/baked-kale-chips/detail.aspx

I wanna change mine to this:

Kale chips! They actually tastes just like potato chips...and they're good for you!

made these and brought them to my book club last night - folks seemed to like them, and everyone was very curious and couldn't believe how easy they are to make

I used too much salt on the first batch though, and ran out of kale so I sent my husband to buy more. He came home with a bag of pre-washed, cut kale - - the pieces were a bit on the small side. Much better to use the whole leaves and tear them into pieces yourself.

But overall, a bit hit with friends and family. I used a seasoning of kosher salt mixed with herbes de provence.

thanks JF for the great suggestion!

I'm glad everyone liked the kale chips, Moe. Now you can replace potato chips with these and won't feel so guilty when you eat them! :)

what flavor? we'll buy the cheddar flavor from the vending machines at the bowling alley, it seems to help our scores. I like to let it sit in my mouth until all the outer salt dissolves and then try to suck the cheese out of the middle until the pretzel collapses. Fun stuff!!

Haha...I'll do the same thing when I'm watching TV. I usually get the cheddar or nacho cheese flavors. Just had the pizza one yesterday. It was ok.

Didn't we already have this thread a few months ago? Oh well. Here you go, best potato chips on the planet.

Awesome, someone else on the planet who appreciates the absolute majesty of those chips.

Here's a shout out to one of the four bases of the stoner food pyramid:
