Yes. I saw something like this on Tom Nichols’ twitter today. Barr was the AG who covered up the Iran contra affair.



I remember reading that he has a Cheneyesk view of the “imperial presidency.” Cheney is known for having strong feelings about the strength of the executive branch. He developed these while serving in Nixon’s administration. He felt like Nixon never should have been compelled to turn over the tapes and had every right to use his powers to shut down investigations without any congressional oversight.

Likewise, Barr used his powers to shut down Iran contra, Mueller, and is currently (proven by the whistleblower) to be abusing his powers to manufacture dirt on Donald’s political opponents.

Thanks for bringing this up from your couch in Draper errr Wyoming. I remember seeing this posted earlier today and shrugged, “meh, Barr’s corrupt.” Now if you google it and read about Barr in 1992, he was a complete *******. It’s amazing that he was confirmed again to be AG. Just goes to show how ridiculous this senate has become.

I remember reading at the start of this wretched presidency that the legislative was going to flex its muscles and offer pushback that the executive hadn’t seen in years. Giggle. Up until this week, the legislative branch had never been streamrolled this bad. Even now, the senate merely serves as a rubber stamp for the executive. Hopefully this changes soon.

The markings on the document state that it was revised in August 2019, but no specific date of revision is disclosed.

You also gave me an opportunity to develop the ideas that had arisen in my mind with Trump's "not concerned" message to his Russian guests, so I took that opportunity in my reply to you.
