ENES KANTER's 2nd Match is staring now :) >>Turkey - Germany<<< LIVE MATCH LINK HERE :) <<<

He'll be fine, these are solid plays for his first game back after 2 years.

In all seriousness, don't expect Kanter to dominate in this league.

The dude hasn't played real Basketball in a very very long time. Give the man a break. Besides, anyone else remember Favors in the summer league last year? Dude looked worse than Ostertag in a wheelchair. But what about now?

Secondly, post players are useless in international play. There's a reason why guys like AK, Hedo, and other athletic perimeter players dominate. The whole euro style is to run the ball down as fast as possible and chuck up the first 3 pointer possible. No one even tries to post up or look inside. The 2000 version of Shaq would struggle to put up double digit points in these games yet was the most dominate force on the planet for nearly a decade. Just remember folks, Kanter plays with Hedo. Hedo doesn't even give the ball up to Dwight mother freaking Howard. Why would he give the ball up to Kanter?

Thirdly, at the very least, Kanter has proven to me, that he'll at least hustle, score points inside, and will easily be our #1 rebounder next year. Do basically everything we wanted Boozer to do (but rarely did). If he is complete and utter fail, he's still 100x better than Boom Bitches and Donut Boy. At the veerrryyy least, he'll be a Scola, bigger and more offensive skilled version of Udonis Haslem, more physical, aggressive, and longer version of Carlos Boozer. A guy that will go in and play with energy (something our team lacks especially on the road), eat up a bunch of rebounds, post up occasionally, finish well off dribble penetration from our guards (Hayward, Burks, and Harris), and irritate the other team because he's constantly seeking contact and crashing the boards.

Sounds good. All aboard!!!!

Love that idea!!!

I think this shows for the sake of our Jazz we need the lockout to end. So, that our youth movement can get together to play, train, and practice. I think Kanter looks strong out on the court. He just needs a playmaker to create space for him to work.

i couldnt watch the game and i thought Kanter did pretty bad after seeing 0 pts on stats. But the comments i read seems good for a game with 0 pts. By the way the real pg of turkey didnt play today, the backups of the backup played so probably the offense couldnt be well organized and as i see from the stats none of the big man scored more than 4 pts.

I think Kanter lacks match practise and he will be just fine in time, because he seems to be a very hard working guy and he will be much better after his rookie year. Im not worried about Kanter but im more worried about Turkey, Nowitzkiless Germany is like worse than any D-league team and we couldnt beat them. we were world second last year but it seems like we are gonna be a bust in this tournament, thats disappointing for me.

Did Kanter move to the high post, then, if they are fronting him?

Not in the couple minutes I watched. Instead Turkey's wings would drive and Kanter would seal the defender on his high side so there was no help and his teammate could finish at the rim.

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that his play is underwhelming... I expected dominance at the #3 pick.

Agreed. I think most of us feared this, but nobody seemed to know because nobody had seen him in a game situation in years. I really think we may rue overlooking Jonas, particularly in light of the fact that we stand to lose part or all of this season on account of the lockout so it wouldn't matter if Jonas can't come over here this year.

Anyone that draws any conclusions abot Kanter's ability from these two games is simply a pessimist. Did you watch how these games were played? How many times was there a play ran to feed the post (Hint: Guess low)?

Do you think the guy that put up 34 (iirc) against Sullinger, Jones, Barnes, etc. was simply lucky? Did all the games in u19 mean nothing, but somehow does for Jonas? Did dozens and dozens of NBA GM's, scouts, etc. just totally miss it?

It will be a while before we know the answer to these questions, but if you blame Kanter's lack of production on him, you either didn't watch the games, don't understand the game, or are trolling.

I think his play was underwhelming in the TWO games we've seen that were streaming in such high quality on CNN Turk...............I think it's fair to right him off as a bust.

*excuse me while I continue the sarcasm*

Not to mention that the Turkish PG's were very good at distributing the ball. Their shot selection was fantastic and always were looking to the big men down low.

*end sarcasm*

No, I believe he was simply bigger than them.

Not certain your point. Are you saying he's just too small to be an elite NBA player? Incidentally, this is NOT homerism, I simply disagree (having watched the games) that a whole lot can be determined by them.
