"They're Not Talked About Very Much"

Last night's Jazz v Bucks game was on NBA TV so I got a chance to watch. The game was the Bucks feed and at one point the Bucks announcer was talking about how the Jazz are a top team and then he said," They're not talked about very much."

Two questions:

#1. What exactly do you personally feel about, "They're not talked about very much."
#2. Why exactly are the Jazz "not talked about very much"?

They never have been. Even the years they went to the finals ESPN only included them as an afterthought. It's the norm. Old boring news.

Wow. An acceptance of status quo. No anger, no desire for things to change, no fight at all in you.

Hell, my Knicks are viewed as a joke and even though we are, that view pisses all of us off. We don't like it, won't accept it. It angers us. We have fight. That's why when we get The Greek Freak next year and sign Zion in two years we will enjoy having the last laugh.

Small market blues. We can't afford the sense of entitlement major markets have.

It's not a sense of entitlement. (Man, are you off the mark.) It is a sense of fairness. A sense of what is right. The Jazz should be talked about.

We have a newspaper guy here in NY who blasts the media because they fawn over the three point shooting offense only teams (like the Rockets). The team game of basketball is dying and yet the media still talks only about offensive juggernauts. The team play - what I see the Jazz excel at - is ignored. That's not right.

You go ahead and get mad, we'll just go to the playoffs. The best fighters aren't the ones who scream and yell and cry the most, the best fighters normally just keep their mouth shut and just kick your ***. You scream and yell all you want. We'll just continue to kick your ***.

We'll just continue to kick your ***.

Look at the current standings: the Dallas Mavs are a better team than the Jazz.
Now get this: already this season my Knicks have beaten the Dallas Mavs not once but twice! That means we'll slaughter you. Get used to that fact.

But it doesn’t really show that you “have fight”. It shows that you will persist with brand loyalty because of the location of the franchise, despite the perpetual mediocrity of the franchise.

That is so incredibly sad. And it has nothing to do with NYC. The Knicks would be hapless and inept anywhere because of their ownership.

But this insistence of continually projecting the idea of quality and success onto a bag of spicy infant feces simply because your city is legendary has to be the most sad and pathetic iteration of being a sports fan that I know of. Especially in the face of The Nets being run so efficiently, and signing talented free agents, Etc., Etc.

You have my deepest sympathies.

And I could not care less about what the national media says about Utah unless its a guy like Zach Lowe or similarly respected writer who writes more about the xs and os

Just a fyi, that commentator was Steve Novak
Ahh, I should have remembered. We love that guy here in New York. Novocaine! Last time Bucks played in NY, he was doing his announcing job for Bucks and they showed him up on the big scoreboard. You should have heard the roar. The entire Garden gave him a tremendous round of applause. (Bigger than any of our current players get.)
