Trade SZN

Sam Presti has now officially turned Russell Westbrook and Paul George into:

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Danilo Gallinari
Ricky Rubio
Kelly Oubre
Heat 2021 1st
Clippers 2022 1st
Suns 2022 1st
Heat 2023 1st
Clippers 2024 1st
Rockets 2024 1st
Clippers 2026 1st
Rockets 2026 1st

Plus the right to swap picks with the Rockets 2021 and 2025 and the Clippers 2023 and 2025.

That is how you extract value for your stars and is teaching Asset Collecting 101. Just masterful GM work. It is insane looking at this.

that MFer gonna flip Oubre and Green for assets too... just watch. They will have all teh pickz.

We should be doing some of these type deals. Boozer, AK, Big Al, Hayward, and others could have netted us long term assets.

Would you trade 23 for Oubre?
I'd consider it... especially if the matching salary is Ed and Tony (probably need to add Niang too). He's an unrestricted free agent so I'd be a bit nervous. I'd move Mike for Oubre and Ricky. Ricky is more of a distributor. I'd worry Kelly is trying to get paid and we'd have too many mouths to feed in the starting lineup.

While the Jazz are sitting with a thumb up their *** with a roster full of 30+ year old has beens (Ingles, Bogey, Conley), other teams in the west are improving and getting better. Sigh... trading for Conley and signing bogey was so stupid. Jazz always should gone for younger/more athletic to align with Donny's timeline. So ****ing tired of the Jazz floundering away their opportunities to go to contender status. Same thing happened when they were tied up with AK 47's contract. The Jazz will always make knee jerk reactions to stay in the "treadmill" playoff level.

Presti is like Scrooge McDuck jumping and swimming in his gold vault, just in draft capital.

They were also smart enough to know not to let anyone walk away for free - it's the exact reason why if we're not committed to Rudy or his contract demands, ship him out now so you don't get an egg later on like Gordon hung on us.

I agree with every bit of this (minus Bojan). I think he was a great addition and useful for the length and amount of his contract. The Ingles extension and Conley trade were just awful business.

We are determined to screw the last phase of building a contender. We didn't adequately support Stockton and Malone. We didn't trade AK when he didn't fit as well at SF. We used solid players and good assets to get poor fit Conley.

Once this current old team runs it's course, we won't have much outside of Don. It's sad really.

Yup, and we won't have the assets to really go out and vastly improve the team either... Which is why I'd be open to seeing what we can get in a Gobert trade.

Is it really that steep? Chris Paul is way better than people give him credit for. Dude took a terrible lottery team to Game 7 against the Rockets.
He's good, but he's still 35 and has had trouble staying healthy most of the recent years and is paid 41M and 44M next 2 seasons. He's not a bad player but to me that looks like a Oubre or a 1st too steep of a price.

OKC still has Adams, Oubre, Green on expirings... Adams might only get a good second unless it comes with ****** salaries too. I think Green prolly gets a second or moves them up the draft board (Minny, Portland, Dallas?). I'd look for some ****** salary and get some firsts for those guys too... maybe whatever player they get recovers some value similar to CP3.

I think Oubre is good. I'd be interested in seeing if we could get him here.

Presti is indeed really good but Phonix did their job too. They know that they will loose Booker if nothing happened, just like we can loose Donovan right after he'll sign him multimillion dollar contract.
Now Suns have two year window to compete and looking to get even stronger because they look like good destination.

Oh I think they were smart here. They have cap space too so they can still do some ****. They retained the #10 pick as well so have a chance to get a good young player. This is more about what they got in the original deal for Westbrook and they got out of jail free on the bad contract... even got some other stuff for it. They are running th process perfectly but still have to make good picks.

Best GM in the league hands down.
I like Massai and Pat still. Presti has to go full cycle and win a title to take the crown... but he's right there. I just admire how quickly he pivots and he moves hard in one direction or the other... don't **** around in the middle.
