Trade SZN

For the record, I was all about getting Dunn for a second-round pick and then using him situationally.... nothing surpassing 20min per game. He’s a specialist. I’m not using anywhere close to the MLE on him. If we’re talking about a guard you can use for major minutes, then Bledsoe is definitely far superior.

But we win that series against the Nuggs with Dunn. Well worth the 2nd it would’ve cost.... and that was obviously a very realistic trade scenario.

I think I'd rather have Jevon Carter for what he will sign for than to sign Dunn for what he will get. I think they are both 15 minute a night guys that will get most of their value from defense... Jevon knows he's a backup though and Dunn likely doesn't. I think Jevon will come for Neto/McConnel type cash and he can shoot a little.

Didnt Joseph Tsai pay like 2 billion dollars for a 49% stake in the Nets just recently? I dont think the cap and its casualties are much of a concern for them...

I mean, if it does happen I'm all for it. As long they keep the damn Lakers from repeating, it's all fine with me. I hate how the league and the media caters to the Lakers all the time.

I think the Nets are gonna be extremely disappointing. The mental makeup of that team is fragile and combustible. If KD ain't right they gonna be screwed.

Yup, but elite D
I will take guys that are really good defenders that are semi functional on offense over guys that are elite but tank the offense.

Again if Dunn is playing more than 15 minutes a night you likely aren't great. I think he gets closer to full MLE than BAE and I'd be terrified to have him at that number. Health and understanding his role would be my big concerns. I'd certainly kick the tires there and see what the number would have to be and if he is cool with 15-20 minutes a night.

Ok so I’m thinking our most likely trade candidate is Ed Davis lmfao so.... anyone think there is still a possible scenario in which we can either dump his salary to enable use of MLE as well as resigning JC or maybe getting a Trade for Ed plus a young player? Thoughts?
Aside from something like this I don’t see the jazz trading Gobert at all and I think it’s slim we see Conley go anywhere. Davis contract may turn into quite a dilemma for us if we have to choose between JC and a ML option. We are then back to working with a 7 man squad.

Conley
Mitchell
O’Neal
Bogdonavic
Ingles
Gobert
JC/MLE

Damnit Ed!!!

i'll give dunn what we gave mudiay last year. a one year min deal and see how it works out. the guy has some serious injury issues so let's not get ahead of ourselves

I think Ntilikina is a better prospect than Dunn and is more easily attainable than Bledsoe.

Conley for Ntilikina saves us $28 million.

Davis for Ntilikina works financially as well although we would need to add to that deal.

Frank is just a prospect though... he's not nearly as good as Dunn or Bledsoe and may never be anything more than a prospect.

Is Frank's defense that far behind Dunn?

Yes... imo. Dunn is the most disruptive guy in the league on the perimeter. Its the offense, the injuries, the price tag, and the fact that he has bristled at coming off the bench before that worry me. If if was 4-5M for 2-3 years on Dunn I'd be on board... it will be more than that.

We didn’t give Fisher to the Lakers. The way I remember it is his infant daughter had cancer or something in her eye. Her doc was in NY or somewhere in that part of the country. He asked Larry H if he could be let out of his deal so he could find a team closer to his daughters doc, soon after he signed with the Lakers. So he told a cold blooded lie just to get out of Utah so he could return to the Lakers. So no we didn’t give him to the Lakers.
Your recollection sounds about right to me, but I still beg to differ on the interpretation. He was under contract with us and we let him out of the contract period. Meanwhile, her Dr was in New York and he signs with LA? It’s not like she would have been left to perish if she received treatment in SLC in any event. Fisher wanted out, wanted to go back to LA apparently, for whatever reason. The daughter’s illness likely played a role. But we just cut a starter, he signed with LA, and was a starter on LA’s championship team. Sounds like a give a way to me.

Why is Chicago letting him go?

Same reason that NY would let Frank go and didn't play him more than 20 minutes even though their team is a tire fire.

he might end up being good but he's not a guy a playoff team should rely on. I know you really like him but that Island is getting lonely.
