Utah is in a weird position with Gobert while appearing to scramble to get below LT. What do you think they do next?

Nothing ever happens, nothing happens at all. The needle returns to the start of the song and we all sing along like before. And we'll all be lonely tonight and lonely tomorrow.

Maybe Jazz are working on a big trade and that needs to happen before they can give Gobert his big *** contract

Jazz want to extend Gobert even if their aim is ultimately to trade him. That's their next move.
They have the entire year to make a move to get below the luxury tax if that's really an issue for them.
The Jazz should see what they have at this stage, get a read on the early returns on Udoka, Hughes, Oni and Brantley, and see how the rest of the Western Conference is shaping up.
The Jazz's best trade asset is Mike Conley and his expiring contract at the deadline, since he can help a team and also clear salary.
The Jazz don't have to do anything at the moment and can sit back and wait for the right opportunities to come up.

I suppose...don’t think Niang or Morgan are getting cut though. Need to cut two guys and replace them with a 900k guy.
Yeah, I'm saying they trade Niang and cut NWG.

Though I think that could happen mid-season instead of now.

If the Jazz are really pinching pennies right now, it could put Niang on the hot seat. It's interesting that the Jazz gave Hughes a guaranteed deal, when they could have given him a 2-way and put him in the G-league as a starting point to save a few bucks. Instead, they gave 2-ways to Forrest and Brantley. Jazz seem to think both Oni and Hughes can play at the 3, while they see Morgan as a 4. It could put a squeeze on Niang.

I voted extend Rudy but I think it’s close right now... between nothing and waiving non guaranteed guy.

DL praised Morgan today.
