What's new

Game Thread Feb 15, 2021 7:00PM MT: Jazz vs. 76ers

Added to Calendar: 02-15-21

The good:

Royce, Clarkson, jingles

The bad:

Our defense, Bogie is back in a shooting slump (0-6 from 3 tonight), and Mitchell wasn’t very efficient.

I think we dodged a bullet tonight. Had Embiid played, this would’ve been a loss.
Maybe and maybe not. Harris and Simmons would not have gotten that many shots. Maybe Rudy plays better. Don't forget we played without Conley too. The reality is we won with the guys we had available. You can always over analyze or assume that things would be different but you never know. Anyways i am happy for the win.

That was a weird *** game. This is a cop out, but I think the "late" scratch from the Sixers really confused the Jazz. As we know, Quin is very reliant on his preparation. He is not an adjustment coach. Props to Simmons and Harris for lighting us up, but I do think the Jazz weren't ready and it showed.

JC is just amazing. It's unbelievable how good he's been. Ingles was terrific all night as well. We really needed them because Bogey couldn't make a 3 and Mitchell was having one of his weird, WTF is he doing games. You have to win the ugly ones too although they will have to kick it into gear to keep the streak going.
We're getting rather spoiled, because winning by double digits against the best team in a conference and scoring 134 points along the way shouldn't be considered ugly.

Simmons hook shot has looked like Kareem's this year and he was on fire from the FT line. Put shooters around him and he's probably a MVP type player.

If Embiid plays it's a completely different game, so it's really pointless to speculate on what would have happened.

I mean, getting scored on 16 straight possessions (or whatever it was) when the other team is missing their MVP candidate isn't pretty lol. I think these games shows how strong the team is, but they definitely could have played better on defense.

Also, we were down a Mike Conley. You don't get pity points for missing players.

I mean the Jazz went from getting killed on the boards last year to leading the league in rebounding this year. Let me think about what changed. . .
Favors is averaging 5 rebounds a game. 5. 5 rebounds. 5 rebounds.
The reason is Jingles, Mitchell, Rudy and Royce are all averaging higher numbers.

I gotta be honest
Early in the game when the jazz were down double digits I thought, this game is over. The jazz will win no problem.

Other teams get hot. Hot is just simply what the jazz are in their normal state

I'm so confused by the Sixers' build. Both Embiid and Simmons would do well to be the interior gravity in a spread offense. If they traded Simmons for Harden, I think we'd see both Embiid and Simmons look better than they do right now (which is saying a lot for Embiid).

Because Favors is blocking out. For some reason this has become some lost art.

Oh for sure, but, like... it's NOT NORMAL to lead by double-digits for almost an entire game. That is starting to feel normal.

Um, admission here is a 2-drink minimum. Kool-aid is all we serve. Drink up.
I'm 100% ********d. Had a rough day. Was going to go with the vodka water fruit mix but said **** it and went straight whiskey.
Member fishonambien? I'm not quite there but this bottle was close to full when the game began
