News flash: Almost no center in the history of the NBA can defend effective in a "filter everything to the rim" system. The fact that Rudy Gobert can is a testament to his greatness.

Guards routinely beating their man at the point of attack and forcing Favors to defend 2 on 1's and Nate thinks he sucks at defense because he can't do it effectively like 99.9% of centers in league history.

When Gobert leaves the game, it's not Favors getting exposed on defense - it's our guards.

That was the reason Favors was signed. I don't understand why people just say oh well he sucks he's a nice guy so that's fine. Robin Lopez would be an upgrade over Favors. Stop making it sound like Favors is as good as there is after Rudy.

Damn, what'd that strawman ever do to you?
 
We played lazy and expected to win. We got bit by this. You have to play a little harder when you have two major players out. But I don't really mind this loss. It's not some big indicator of this team. Mitchell was great in the first and end of the fourth. The rest of the game he was killing us though. Defensive effort was low all around and they made a lot of big shots, especially from 3.

Going for 2 after Beal missed 2 was kinda dumb.

But damn I would trust Mitchell with my life when he has that expression on offense.

Ehh, all you need at that point is one missed free throw and it’s a one possession game. That should have been an and one too.

There is no reasoning with him. He looks for bad plays from him and ignores anything good. No, favors isn't as good at interior defense as Gobert but no one, except him, expects that. Favors has flaws and has bad games but he's been a very solid backup center for us.
 
Not the best night to rest Conley with Clarkson out. We could have used one of them tonight.
 
Is Morgan out tonight? He can't possibly be worse than any of the scrubs that played in this game.

Yeah right. If none of the other bullcrap games were a wakeup, this ain’t either. This is a team that thinks it’s better than it is. Even with the 1 seed, depending on the matchup, I’ll be happy to get out of the first round. We won’t make it past the second round. No way in hell.
This season has been both delightful, and a disappointment at the same time. That’s not easy to do, either.
