Phoenix Suns watch

We can say that OKC and Sacramento are tanking, but when we play them, will losing to us increase any lottery odds? The last game of the season people will feel fine throwing it all out there. We, on the other hand, may play nervous and with tight sphincters.

The playoff picture is pretty murky... who knows where we will be and where we will want to end up.
Thats why the jazz are doing what the jazz are doing. Quin and company are playing 4d chess while everyone else plays checkers. If they would have won too much then they would be locked into the 1 seed. As it stands right now they can decide if they want the 1 or the 2 seed.

(im joking btw)

Choking is what tends to happen when people in authority make bad decisions and subject their troops to unnecessary duress.
Choking is what happens when robert covington goes to the free throw line at the end of a big game.

Just checked. OKC could try to beat out Orlando, but Sacramento is fairly distanced from everyone that they don’t need to tank. Walton wants his job. Players want pride. Besides, didn’t they change the way the lottery odds work?

If we lose one, the FO is going to subtly push a narrative through Utah media about how we just wanted a top-2 seed and didn’t care which one, and that we accomplished what we needed to.

The whole review system is stupid. They look for anything they can to keep the call on the court. The way it should work is that they look at the replay and think: What should we have called or not called on this play? So if a pinky finger grazes a shooters knee and has no effect on the shot but they called a foul originally because they thought there was more contact then they should be like "ok, now seeing this in slow motion with better angles I see that we shouldn't have made that call. Although there was a tiny bit of contact it was ticky tack and had no effect on the play"
Until that changes, the challenge system is pretty worthless.

And it might even be the truthful narrative. I mean if they were really really fighting for the 1 seed do you think they would roll with conley or forrest? I tend to think conley gives you a better shot at the 1 seed than trent forrest but who knows really.

This is good for us. The Blazers are more dangerous than the Mavericks, and now they are most likely out of our bracket. Blazers should probably end up 6th.

Eh, I don't fear the Blazers if we're at full strength.

But that having been said, I agree that Dallas is an easier matchup.

I watched the end of the Kings v. Grizzlies game tonight. The Kings basically tanked the game in the final minute 2012 Warriors style. First Chimeze Metu shoots a contested 3pt shot for almost no reason. Next offensive possession the Kings get a shot-clock violation. Then on the next defensive possession, they give up a silly and unnecessary foul with the Grizzlies in the bonus. They turned a 2pt deficit into a 6pt deficit in 35 seconds. They made no effort to close that game.

I'm not convinced that the Kings really want to win. I think they want draft position.

Now that said, they might be a bit pissed at us for beating them by 50 pts last time.

I'm not super worried about the last two games.

I am annoyed that we could've kept the Lakers out of the play in. My biggest fear isn't losing the 1 seed, it's the Lakers finishing with the 8th seed and us having to integrate a rusted Mitchell against LeBron/AD.

I knew the Jazz didn't care about last night's game against the Blazers when they put in Matt Thomas early in the 3rd quarter.

I mean c'mon, we're playing for the best record in the league and the #1 seed throughout the playoffs. We can't ***** foot our way into the top seed.

This gives us something to play for and to go into the POs with a bit of swagger.
