Conley hamstringing again

Harden had a bad hamstring, sat out a couple games, then played 49+ minutes.
Did not play well but played.
Every player and injury is different but what's up with Conley

Even if all he did was come was come off the bench and take Niang's 13 minutes it would make a huge difference.
Play the 10 non Donovan minutes?

Maybe Quin could just give Rudy 40 minutes too... at least maybe don’t take him out when we have incredible amounts of momentum.

We don’t let the players overrule the training staff. I think if it were Mikes call then he’d play.

This is Conley best shot at a NBA title with not riding coattails.

He must play through injury if he wants legacy.

Donny is playing through injury and he is just started career. Conley already max contract veteran.

Questions about Conley trade come back in my mind if he not play in postseason. Crowder is big presence in Heat and Suns. May go to finals again.

Conley was key part in top seed during regular season.

That wasn't the point. HH said we built around Don. I know that we didn't. It was clear that we wanted to put a bunch of guys around Rudy.

We have had an amazing season, but there are still a bunch around here who think we lack what it takes to win the title. It's not just Conley this series. It's more defenders and a stretch big.

You’re delusional. Ricky was better for Rudy. Ricky knew how to find and play with Rudy. The problem was he couldn’t shoot at all and it allowed the collapses on Donovan. The Jazz knew they had to get another ball handler and shooting around Donovan to alleviate him. Now that pressure relief valve is sitting on the bench and taking up $30 million in cap space. The Jazz absolutely built around both of them with Donovan front and center in their mind. Saying they didn’t is pure blindness. PS Donovan’s a big part of that bad defense on the wings you’re speaking of. Donovan is 24, if he wants to be elite elite do what Kawhi Leonard does and play something that resembles average defense for most of the game.

The reason players can't get Rudy the ball has more to do with Rudy than the players trying to get him the ball. He just can't handle passes unless they are above his waist. This is something he needs to work on the in the off-season, and it's well overdue.
I mean, no. Rudy just is never going to be all that good at it. Mike knows to wait to the right second to pass him the ball.

People I’ve heard be doubtful Mike plays tomorrow:

MacMahon, Locke, Andy Larsen, Checketts, and Boler………I’m hoping they are very wrong but I’m not hopeful tbh.

I'm not arguing with you just to argue - I simply disagree with you.

When we pursued Conley, it was after Don had two straight years of having to carry the offensive load in the playoffs. He was the primary ball handler and scorer. We lacked shooters to spread the floor for him and Rudy.

Then we used a ton of assets for Conley.
1. Conley is a primary ball handler, true PG.
2. He has never been a spot up shooter.
3. Most could argue he's a worse defender than Rubio.

Conley's success in the NBA was with Gasol and never alongside a great SG. Conley's best years were actually alongside a pass first defensive beast in Tony Allen.

Conley wasn't brought in for Donovan. He was brought in to make our team better. I think he did that, or at least a combination of him and Bojan, for the regular season at least.

If we built around Don, we would have traded for Jrue or somebody similar. The Conley deal was about Rudy.

KD coming off Achilles surgery plays 48 minutes... creates everything... I’m sure he’d rather have sat 8 minutes and lost by 10 doe.
OTOH, KD _did_ come back from a calf injury early only to snap that achilles. I'm pretty sure he would've changed that decision if he knew the outcome.

So reporting now is that he’s out indefinitely and might have ACL injury. Doesn’t say it’s a tear or strain or what. Does this mean he’s done in this series regardless of how many games this goes?

If he has any kind of ACL injury, yes. Expect an MRI in the next 24 hours. Unless he's with the team tonight, then they'd do it in LA tomorrow.
