What's new

Trent Forest is back

Butler thing is kind of messy. Kid still can end up playing overseas...
@danclayt0n article at saltcitihoops
One thing I'd note is that JZ actually got his start with Bartelstein. Bartelstein found JZ as an assistant coach on a sixth-grade basketball team. He offered him an internship with him and that's how JZ became an agent. He met his wife there as she was employed by Bartelstein. I would assume this would be fairly gentlemanly, unless he's really upset that JZ overshot him.

Jazz are at 14 players under contract, although Oni's deal is non-guaranteed through early January.

Brantley is on the bubble. Macio Teague and Paul White are looking like possible 2-way guys. Nate Sestina had a nice game on Monday, so I guess he's someone to watch as well.

I dont think Brantley is here for very long. Very easy to cut someone for 84K.

Nice piece of data there, thanks for sharing.
Got to believe JZ went for Butler knowing what to expect from kid's camp.
Hope a contract get signed soon.

Aren’t you forgetting Butler?

Not according to the article. Bartlestein sounds like a massive ball buster! I think Butler based on his laurels was a no-brainer at #40.

I guess Bartlestein won't be sending his kid overseas to start all over again next year, but who knows, he might play it the hard way.
Sounds like he’s bluffing in hopes of a one year deal, loosening our control and accelerating his path to greater earnings. Him going overseas would do nothing to hurt our bargaining position in the nba and only prolong his path if he “pops”. Risk of injury or a huge Euro deal, but I still think it’s a bad risk for Butler to take.

And finally, habemus contract. JB's a Jazzman for 2 seasons for about 2.5M chips.

That's exciting! I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but with how dominant Baylor was in the tournament and JB's performance, I'm looking for big things!

Can't believe there's no thread. All I can say is that the team that had the best record in the NBA last year has a much improved roster this year! Let's see what Snyder can do with it now.

Sestina is interesting. He played his last year at Kentucky and Cal is in his corner. He did a decent job rebounding in SLC playing for the JVs there and had a nice line Monday. He played in the Patriot League so he's smart and had a decent year stat wise in Israel.
