I'm gay. My family is still really LDS, and they love me, and I love them.
Still sucks, though. It's a nice, warm feeling to believe in the church, but it gets cold once you're forced into the awkward situation of choosing love over celestial glory. Before I accepted the fact that I liked dudes, I always felt really guilty about thinking the church was illogical. Once I got over the fact that I'm a homo, I sort of realized that it's dumb to feel guilty about thinking logically.
Do what makes you happy. If being in the church is what makes you happy, keep on going. If you're not a fan, get outta there. Just don't live your life for other people.
