David Aldridge: Jazz come to terms with Jamaal Tinsley

Does KOC watch the NBA? What is up with picking guys like this?

Let's see...

KOC has signed the likes of Brevin Knight, Jason Hart, Jamal Tinsley

But has traded away Deron Williams, Eric Maynor and released Fisher and let go Watson

Can we start calling for his head yet?

Backup PGs can either defend and run an offense, or shoot. Never both. Otherwise, they wouldn't be backups. Jazz seem to want the floor generals.

Would rather have Watson. Maybe they'll still sign Watson. Tinsley is probably a better player than Price.

Ahh, Jazzfanz at it's finest. Yesterday praising KOC for not allowing Dwill to go Chris Paul on us. Now call for his head over the (potential, he still has to win the job) backup PG spot. What happened to everyone wanting to suck for a high draft pick?

I think KOC and Tyrone Corbin must have gone to that movie "Moneyball" at least a couple of times together. They must be picking up off-the-radar stat players, while everyone else is fighting over higher profile free agents.

Here is my positive spin: Tinsley seems to have been a selfish prick in the past. He got booted from the NBA and no one wanted him. I'm sure this has humbled him. This is his chance to prove he can still contribute 10-15 minutes off the bench. I don't expect him to be a problem.

Holy Moly, I think KOC just lost it. I saw Jamaal Tinsley play in a D-league game on NBA TV. He looked like he can still play, he still can't shoot for crap. Let's hope this was a camp invite instead of a multi-year deal.

This is good because I do want the Jazz to suck for draft picks. But it is still frustrating to watch KOC in action. Because all he'll do is find a way to be right in the middle. Not good enough to win a championship and not bad enough to get a high draft pick.

Number 14 pick and no playoffs here we come

I HIGHLY doubt it's a multi-year deal. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a non-guaranteed deal.

I have a feeling it will be a small deal. Max 2 years, would not be surprised at 1. Like a tryout for him to prove he can still be a productive backup PG.

Which would also explain why they didnt sign Watson. Maybe Watson wanted 3 years and KOC SAID " NO NEXT YEAR WE ARE DRAFTING THE GREAT KENDALL MARSHALL AND HE WILL BE OUR BACKUP, WE WILL GET LOL TINSLEY AND GIVE HIM 1 YEAR LOL"

There HAS to be something Jazz management knows that we don't. This just doesn't make sense..

I'm sure this has humbled him.

You're sure, eh? I'm not picking on you, man, but this is baseless speculation. You have extensive sports psychology experience? Your optimism is endearing, but I'd say it more likely that people don't change.

It doesn't take a psych major to know the effects of not being wanted by anyone.

But the Jazz have always been so transparent about their plans and easy to read.

I need to insert Colton's sig here.

I'm sure the $50 million he's earned and the lifetime of coddling and not having to suffer any real consequences for anything he's done has been real humbling.

anybody who has thought about psychology knows that all situations are complex and over-determined; there are multiple ways to respond to something and the response is ultimately undeterminable. Why wouldn't his situation just cause him to have a chip on his shoulder? You're too optimistic.
