Donovan refuses to say whether or not he wants to be in Utah moving forward

I think everybody here except Lopo already knew this.

I definitely didn't think he'd re-sign here and be here long time, but I thought he at least planned to finish his contract out. I sure as hell didn't expect him to give this kind of an answer as soon as the season ended. Looks like he may be requesting a trade.

I’m not sure why he couldn’t think about it now as there is no more winning for him to possibly do this year, and therefore, no longer any reason to be thinking about winning.

The only answer to that question that isn’t going to start a media wildfire is a resounding and quick denial.

The culture of this team right now is toxic. trade as many guys as possible.

There were a lot of reports that he'd ask out as soon as this offseason if the Jazz were an early exit.

I heard the reports, but I honestly thought it was just rumors and speculation...apparently I was wrong.

I kind of love this, tbh.

He’s a very good, not elite player. We are not winning a chip with him as our #1 offensive option.

That said he’s still super young, at peak value and has 3 years left on his deal. Could trade him for a damn HAUL.

Does he have a no-trade clause? No, right?

That is less committed than the answer Hayward gave… I appreciate actual honestly in this situation and if he does want out I won’t blame him if he asks and is honest.

What we will do is tell him it’s okay… watch all the moves we do to make you happy… and then instead of trading for future facing assets we will waste time and resources trying to make him happy… it ultimately fails… we get 70% of what we would have and it will make the rebuild more drawn out.

Hopefully Ainge can get Ryan to see the light.

No. Those are extremely rare (and usually acquired after the first big contract).

Definitely not a great answer but I also wouldn’t expect him to give a strong endorsement to this team. Things are not good.

I still assume he’ll be back next year, but I am not overly attached to him either so won’t be heartbroken if he is traded for a large haul.

Also… i don’t believe TJ at all. I think he gets info from insiders that know he will report what they tell him… just like how NAW would Be in the rotation immediately.

It will depend on the offers… if teams think we are leaning on keeping it together the offers will be more fair… because our stated preferred goal is keeping it together.

That is the answer then. We now know. He is not all in, here at Utah. Let's move him and get to building this team the way it needs to be built to get wins in the post season.

He has a trade kicker clause. So if he doesn’t agree to waive it, ie they don’t send him where he wants, they get to pay him a % of his salary for the privilege of his trade demand. Moronic BS giving this pile of **** whatever he wanted.

Didn’t think so. He can “ask out” all he wants as far as I’m concerned but he doesn’t get to choose where. Our response is to trade him wherever we get the best package and he plays there for 3 years.
It’s going to cost the Jazz $6 million to do so when he won’t waive that trade clause.
