Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

THe problem is he can't. He's not a super high IQ player. He's got a high scoring feel and a good feel for drive and kick, but he is moderate to low IQ in most other facets of the game.
I think you are likely correct... but I think there are also some "he doesn't want to" issues as well.

Maybe, but Don does go into those "Im going to try hard to playu lock down D mode" where he will try and get into a low stance and get up in people, and he still gets cooked or he loses focus immediately when off ball".

We think he has the capability of being good on D because he was projected as a defender coming out of school. Well, I think he probably would have been a bust on that end if the offense didnt come through. He's just not very good on D.

Im sure to some degree that's mental fatigue of having to handle a lot of scoring/playmaking, but his biggest proponents on this board (I mean Lopo) want him to be a full-time PG surrounded by 3&D wings. It's only going to get worse.

Kcp/hui for Conley
You know what, now that I look at Washington's free agent/cap situation, they probably want to keep Rui as Kuz insurance. Kuzma has a player option next year he will likely reject. If they lose Kuz, they can re-sign Rui. So it might have to be KCP/Ish/2nd round picks (if they have any to give)

They could send #54, and another in 26 and 27 but it would be conditional on a first they owe to OKC conveying... so one second and two conditional seconds

If you did Conley and NAW for KCP/Ish/Todd/Carey and second rounders... it saves us close 8-9M if you keep those guys. I may try and sneak Gay in there if you could instead. I don't care for Todd or Carey... you could also likely give cash to a team to take Ish as a backup... though we may actually need someone at his level.

I don't love saving Ryan money but if it saves us from doing a bad salary dump later then whatevs.

If it was just KCP and scraps I’d probably find something else and consider Conley off the bench. I think Detroit or some team may bite on Mike if they miss their primary target.

If OKC wants to jump from 12 to 10 Wiz could do 10 for 12 and 30... then they send KCP/Ish and 30 to us for Mike.

Washington not gonna give up on Rui anytime soon as they are living on all those sweet Japanese sponsorships.

If we could get Rui or Deni in a deal for Conley that’s the type of home run we need to pounce on. Get one of them and they develop into something great and it’s perfect.

Me: Our star player who we are building around should fix these fairly obvious flaws as it will be critical to our success.

Jazzfanz: You hater moron... quit blaming Donovan!!!!
You said we win that series if Donovan plays better. That's blaming Donovan in a way.

That, my friend, is a bogus assessment.

We have lost series when Donovan has put up record breaking numbers.

It’s not… I could say we win if Bogey has a couple 30 point games… doesn’t mean I blame Bogey for the loss. I could say the same about Rudy… Donovan was further off his averages and is a more important player to us than Mike. I said if Donovan has a good series we win… it’s only true for this particular series so don’t go applying it to other series from the past. It is possible for Donovan to play well and we lose… in the Dallas series I believe strongly that if he has a good series we win.

I would think Donovan himself would agree with the statement and would admit he had an awful series.

The craziest part of all of this is 25.5 PPG on 40% from the field, 5.7 APG, 4.3 RPG, 88.1% from the free throw line on 7 attempts per game is considered an absolute terrible series. That’s how good he is.

He was extra terrible on defense and from three though. We shouldn’t have to rely on ONE guy making a couple of extra threes to win a series but here we are.

The whole team sucked on 3pts in the Mavs series. Mavs shot well and made the plays when needed. Usually this why teams lose. Jazz need to become more athletic and bigger. Have guys who can and want to play defense. If they are just bringing back the same guys then there is no hope for this franchise ever winning the title.

I have seen Mitchell play good defense. He did an exactly job on Murray in the Denver series in the 4th quarter. I think two things are in play. One is DM was given all the offensive responsibility when he came iinto the league. Quinn and his teammates told him to shoot even when he was struggling so DM has taken that advice and ran with it. The problem is he has developed bad habits because of this "just keep shooting" mandate. He feels all the offense burden is on him. So he forces shots that he may not have done so earlier in his career.

DM expends so much energy on offense that he started slacking on defense. Then he got injured and lost some of his ability to jump and to move laterally which causes problems on defense. I don't disagree that EFFORT is a big problem but it is not the only reason. I also agree that DM isn't a natural PG but due to his size that is his position. He has shown some ability to pass but he also makes some dumb turnovers too. However Conley and DM are undersized and this becomes an issue in the Playoffs. I just think the backcourt needs more size so unless the Jazz can find a bigger PG, then DM is our best option.

Dont have much time to post but allways nice to read.
On my opinion, blaiming Don or Rudy for the loss is a bit stupid. We have two great players , Don, real offensive weapon but weak on defense, Rudy, fantastic on defense and rebound but weak at offense. We can trade one of them, both of them but he will be change for the worst. My opinion is to keep them, change the coach and put around them what we are missing now, more athletic players, better defender. Let Don run the offense and make sure around him, there is some less shiny players doing the job in defense. Offesne was not an issue for us ( at least until we **** up on PO) but defense has been all season long.
