I think you are likely correct... but I think there are also some "he doesn't want to" issues as well.THe problem is he can't. He's not a super high IQ player. He's got a high scoring feel and a good feel for drive and kick, but he is moderate to low IQ in most other facets of the game.
Kcp/hui for ConleyKuzma + Ish Smith for Conley works
Maybe, but Don does go into those "Im going to try hard to playu lock down D mode" where he will try and get into a low stance and get up in people, and he still gets cooked or he loses focus immediately when off ball".I think you are likely correct... but I think there are also some "he doesn't want to" issues as well.
You know what, now that I look at Washington's free agent/cap situation, they probably want to keep Rui as Kuz insurance. Kuzma has a player option next year he will likely reject. If they lose Kuz, they can re-sign Rui. So it might have to be KCP/Ish/2nd round picks (if they have any to give)Kcp/hui for Conley
They could send #54, and another in 26 and 27 but it would be conditional on a first they owe to OKC conveying... so one second and two conditional secondsYou know what, now that I look at Washington's free agent/cap situation, they probably want to keep Rui as Kuz insurance. If you did Conley and NAW for KCP/Ish/Todd/Carey and second rounders... it saves us close 8-9M if you keep those guys. I may try and sneak Gay in there if you could instead. I don't care for Todd or Carey... you could also likely give cash to a team to take Ish as a backup... though we may actually need someone at his level. You know what, now that I look at Washington's free agent/cap situation, they probably want to keep Rui as Kuz insurance. You said we win that series if Donovan plays better. That's blaming Donovan in a way.Me: Our star player who we are building around should fix these fairly obvious flaws as it will be critical to our success.
Jazzfanz: You hater moron... quit blaming Donovan!!!!

That, my friend, is a bogus assessment.
We have lost series when Donovan has put up record breaking numbers.

It’s not… I could say we win if Bogey has a couple 30 point games… doesn’t mean I blame Bogey for the loss. I could say the same about Rudy… Donovan was further off his averages and is a more important player to us than Mike. I said if Donovan has a good series we win… it’s only true for this particular series so don’t go applying it to other series from the past. It is possible for Donovan to play well and we lose… in the Dallas series I believe strongly that if he has a good series we win.You said we win that series if Donovan plays better. I would think Donovan himself would agree with the statement and would admit he had an awful series.
I have seen Mitchell play good defense. He did an exactly job on Murray in the Denver series in the 4th quarter. I think two things are in play. One is DM was given all the offensive responsibility when he came iinto the league. Quinn and his teammates told him to shoot even when he was struggling so DM has taken that advice and ran with it. The problem is he has developed bad habits because of this "just keep shooting" mandate. He feels all the offense burden is on him. So he forces shots that he may not have done so earlier in his career.Maybe, but Don does go into those "Im going to try hard to playu lock down D mode" where he will try and get into a low stance and get up in people, and he still gets cooked or he loses focus immediately when off ball".
We think he has the capability of being good on D because he was projected as a defender coming out of school. Well, I think he probably would have been a bust on that end if the offense didnt come through. He's just not very good on D.
Im sure to some degree that's mental fatigue of having to handle a lot of scoring/playmaking, but his biggest proponents on this board (I mean Lopo) want him to be a full-time PG surrounded by 3&D wings. It's only going to get worse.
