Snyder to step down - Woj

This is the Snyder I loved

Seems like he decided he wanted to be the players' friend more than their coach.

Yeah, pretty sure Gobert will be dealt. Very curious to see if Donovan goes to. I know they want a rep in the ASG next year, but this constant treadmill to get blown the f' out in the playoffs is getting old.

They can get Banchero and make a big deal over him in the Rookies/Sophomores game.

Classy end of tenure by Q.
Not always unerstood him, but I liked him as our Coach and would have liked him to come back.
He managed a lot of up and downs and all kind of changes around.
He understood it was time for him to change and for the team to hear a new voice.
Wish him and his family the best.

Tony is expressing an opinion in this case, not fact. Eventually, perennial system issues cease to be a problem with the roster and you have to look at coaching as a cause. Snyder was constantly exposed in the playoffs and all those players we brought in to fix it kept getting DNP-CD until it's too late. Sorry, but regardless of what Tony says, Snyder owns some of issues with the team's performance.
Let’s be honest here, Tony Jones eats Jazz table scraps and will never bite the hand that feeds him.

So if you believe that, why wouldnt he instantly switch on Quin?

He clearly said it wasnt Quin, meaning it's someone on the Jazz (someone he obviously cant name because of their power). If he was simply "eating Jazz table scraps" why would he continue to state the issue is still on teh Jazz?

Whatever is happening I assure you Ryan Smith has way too much of a voice and we are going to have issues for a while under his leadership.
Sadly he has a case of new owner syndrome. The next 12 months will be a huge pivot point that determines if we go the way of the Kings or he actually figures it out and we don’t suffer for a decade.

A little lotto luck would smooth out some of those bumps but it’s headed in a bad direction.

I’m going to miss Snyder. He wasn’t perfect by any means.

But I still remember all to well the dark days of Corbin.

Snyders a good coach. I hope he does well. I loved how passionate he was, looking like a coke addict.

I’m not surprised but still bummed.

Tony loves to play the "I know, but I ain't telling you" game. Just a bad look for "reporter."
He does… it’s the Woj approach though. Gain traction for a lot of years so you have the best sources… I think he’s playing too small here in Utah though. He’s gotta just drop some bombs to get a little further ahead… simply aiming and waiting ain’t it for a local team this small. Throw some haymakers if you got em.

He kinda fell on the sword and I can respect it.

I agree but I wonder if there was some of this behind the scenes and it wasn’t well received. We are in the Tyson Zone as an organization… nothing you could tell me would surprise me that much.

It makes me a little mad I had to listen to so much BS about how fine it was… k then why you quitting.

I'm going to assume we are going to end up with a 1st time head coach. I dont think the current Jazz job is appealing enough to highly qualified candidates like Stotts.

Well, exactly. We were blessed with one of the all time greats in Jerry Sloan, and it's really hard for anyone to measure up, but at least we had a sad pile of crap to follow him so we know just how bad it can get.

I'm honestly worried we'll hire Hornacek. His first year as a coach his team exceeded expectations, and the rest has been... just bad.

From the article -
Mitchell considered Snyder a significant part of his reasoning for committing to a five-year maximum contract extension in 2020, and Snyder's decision to step away on Sunday has left Mitchell "surprised and disappointed," sources told ESPN.

Mitchell super worried that he might be asked to play defense.

The perfect opportunity for DM to demand a trade.
