Folks, I think after seeing this guy in a Jazz uniform for over a year, I think it's safe to describe Jefferson as Fool's Gold.

Like Monta Ellis, Tracy McGrady, and Carlos Boozer, this guy puts up attractive numbers, but hurts his team at least as much as helps.

He never boxes out, which leads to the opposing team getting more scoring opportunities and drawing more fouls (since it puts Al and other Jazz players into bad positions).
He's a complete black hole which destroys any offensive flow we might have.
His offensive game sucks. Yes, he does have that ONE spin move, which can be effective. Otherwise, his offensive game revolves around a stupid shotput shot (which never goes in) and his jumper (which almost never goes in). He's just not effective enough for a winning team.
His defense, is just terrible.
Intangibles and leadership, or lack thereof.

Now, he's going to lead to bad chemistry. Millsap isn't stupid... Neither are some of the other players.... People are becoming wise to "Big Al's" suckness. And having (better) players benched in favor of Al's "cool numbers but many losses" is going to go a long way to destroying chemistry.

Folks, there's a reason why Big Al has never been to the playoffs. Lets not make the same mistake in believing in this guy. Lets trade him ASAP for a shooter and/or draft picks. Go forward with Favors, Kanter, Millsap, and Evans.

I'm with ya for the most part... If we can acquire a starting point guard of the future in a deal that includes Al Jeff, than I'm all for it. Ty Lawson is the number 1 guy I'm thinking of. They have Andre Miller so maybe they'd bite?? Obviously the elite PGs are untouchable in a deal involving Al, but a guy like Lawson could still possibly be had and turn into an elite one. Not sure there are many other PGs.

As I have said before I am open to trading people if it is the right move. I do not want a trade just for trades sake. If it makes the Jazz better than ok.

As for Lawson...oh man I can just see him running the floor and Hayward, Favors, Burks and Kanter are all right there with him.

I'm 100 percent with ya. I've been saying it since last year.

Where are all the Jefferson apologists anyways? Normally if ya bag on the guy you get killed around here. But that isn't important. The important thing is for everyone to be in the same page so we can drive this guy out of town. Not because he is a bad guy bust just a bad player.

Also you forgot that he has no idea how to run the pick and roll or defend the pick and roll. Which is very key to winning basketball. The guy doesn't play team basketball.

See this I disagree with. I don't want to drive him out but would do a trade that makes us better. Just getting rid of him wont help the Jazz.

It's not about driving anybody out.

But if a young player deserves PT over a vet, then some (or all) of his PT should be allocated to the youngin.

Last night, Favors played only 18 minutes. Who cares if he fouls out? The game wasn't in reach! DF should have gotten some of Big Al's time, because Jefferson surely didn't deserve it. Coaching 101.

I was not talking about playing time. I think the young guys should get plenty of minutes and obviously Big Al was not working out last night. Favors should have had 30 minutes last night.

I was only talking about getting rid of someone to get rid of them.

Trading Jefferson instantly makes the Jazz better. So trade him for trades sake.

I disagree, getting a shooter or a better PG would make the Jazz better. Not a Big Al fan but we need to get something we need for him.

I just don't see Lawson bring traded right now. He's far too valuable to Denver. We'd have to give up something else to get him since he's trending to be an all star. It would be like asking us to trade Favors away for someone with good numbers, but has reached their ceiling.

Don't get me wrong Lawson would be awesome to pick up, but what would we be along to give up to get him?

I would move AJ for some talented SF/SG who could shoot. I agree about AJ's black hole. He does pass more than he use to but he reverts back to standing still and pump-faking until he has to force up a shot. I wanted to keep AJ but I am ready to let Millsap/Kanter/Favors/Evans man the PF/C position this year.

I would move Bell and CJ for picks.

I am almost ready to get rid of Harris but I just don't see a trade that makes the Jazz better.

Well said.
