Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Do we have the assets to take this swing and still recover?
If we really want the Laker picks maybe we have Kyrie as a rental plus we send a couple of our players to the Nets where they can compete for a championship.. Kyrie loses money if he signs as a free agent so a trade with the Lakers after the season is over might be a possibility. Would the Lakers have 50 million in cap room?

Trader Dan is starting to rev up....

Utah sends: Conley, Clarkson, future CLE FRP
Utah receives: Westbrook, 2 Lakers' FRPs

Nets send: Kyrie and loose change
Nets receive: Conley, Clarkson, Future CLE FRP

Lakers send: Westbrook, 2 FRPs unprotected
Lakers receive: Kyrie, loose change.

Jazz could throw in Vanderbilt, Olynyk or whatever to smooth things over.
There is next to no chance the Jazz get both those LAL picks imo like this , even giving up a likely late first Cavs pick.
Sending out Kyrie means KD leaves this summer and they want the picks not win now vets in BKN.
I see very few scenarios where Irving gets to LAL

You can always count on Cy to be on the side of the douchebag.
I’m going to agree with Cy on this one. Kyrie has a lot of issues, but the Nets have been trash at handling him. He should want to leave if they haven’t committed already and there’s nothing wrong with him saying it out loud. Dysfunctional relationship that was bound to end. Jazz can absolutely get involved and help move pieces across the board.

Heres the deal... we get the Lakers pick and essentially swap the Philly pick with the worse of the NOP and Lakers pick in 2023. Nets field a respectable team. We end up with infinity cap space and substantially improve our pick this year.

I think we need more draft assets back if we’re sending all that out. Don’t want to bank in just the Lakers picks. Get as much draft capital as you can and move on.

Tony Jones on ESPN 700... says we have frameworks for a few deals for some of the vets. JV has a lot of interest... so does Beasley. Says Jazz aren't sure they want to trade Beasley... said the phones been ringing off the hooks. Doesn't think Mike or JC are traded even though there is interest.

That sounds idiotic

Facilitating Kyrie to the Lakers is the perfect move for the Jazz and they are the perfect to team to do it.

Get those Laker first rounders. Take the Westbrook contract, send the Nets Conley/JV/ whatever to keep them good, etc. Every team gets what they want/need.

Huh?

We are giving up all that for 1 first and a swap?
1 unprotected first in 2027 is worth like 2-3 protected firsts. The swap would take us from 28 to like 13-14… might end up at like 16-18. 10 spots is huge.

We also end up with 40M in space… that’s a big deal.

I’ll concede it’s worth 2 protected picks but not 3. Highly likely it’s a great pick but still could end up being average with the lottery.

Also you’re basing the swap off NOP’s current form. I think it’s reasonable that they bounce back and end up middle of the playoff pack in the west.

Anyway, I think that’s too much to give. I’d want both picks or hold back a dude from that trade.
