I doubt it. He has 4 years left on his deal and their entire core is all 24 or younger. This is where trusting the process starts to pay off.
Lol… they add shooting and Chet plus whatever they do with the pick this year… they gonna be great. They have a bunch of young guys who will take a leap forward next year… already basically a .500 team.meh they don't really impress me much
Worked pretty good for the WarriorsPhil Johnson would have told you that is impossible to build a contending team with players all of the same age, especially younger guys. Eventually all of the younger guys are trying to establish themselves more than the "team identity." Kinda like Summer League writ large. If you have a mix of young and old, the player hierarchies are more easily established and players aren't stepping on one another. Think old school OKC and current Memphis.
I'm not sure I believe it, but Phil Johnson knew more about basketball than me.
I think we will go after Grant Williams pretty hard.
No lol… come on lopo they ain’t giving a pick in that deal. Doubt they’d do it straight up.DFS has been struggling hard in Brooklyn. He may be a product of playing with a super-star. A guy who doesnt need the ball, but does need very clean looks. It creates an interesting buy low for a guy who was considered one of the better "pure" 3&D players in the NBA.
Could the Jazz trade Sexton for DFS + PHX 2023 1st?
This is a solid plan… other than the trade value portion it’s cool. We’d still need an absolute home run in the draft to become a contender.IF you can do that and sign FVV you can go into 2023/2024 with a rotation of:
FVV/THT
Ochai/Clarkson
DFS/Simone
Lauri
Kessler/KO
You'd also almost certainly package or move some combination of the 4 picks in 2023 for improved depth, moving up the draft, or moving out the draft into another draft.
I would say that trade makes sense for both teams as Utah needs wing defenders and Brooklyn needs some kind of PG prospect and they have an abundance of wing defenders.
If you got Dame why get Derozan. I think Dame stays put… he seems like he is very much just gonna die on the loyalty hill in Portland. Derozan, Beal, Lavine… are all guys I think will be available this offseason. With how good Lauri is now, the Jazz kind of have to be in win now mode.
I could see DA pulling off some magic and recreating the Boston Allen/KG trades. Steal Dame away from Portland and Derozan from the Bulls?
Dame
Ochai
Derozan
Lauri
Walker
That would be a super team.
I wouldnt be so sure.No lol… come on lopo they ain’t giving a pick in that deal. Doubt they’d do it straight up.

Just get as much talent as possible. Just looked at the ****** teams who could possibly be interested. I would love to get *insert start SF name* but I just dont know how that would be. I love Derozan's game. He has fit well with Lavine. Lauri/DeRozan/Dame could definitely work IMO. 3 super high IQ guys who have pretty different games. If you got Dame why get Derozan. Nope. DFS is the type of player that will have like 25 teams interested. Sexton may only have a few. They do need passing/playmaking but that’s not the type of pg Sexton is. Sexton also has missed a lot of time. We’d be the team adding something.I wouldnt be so sure.
Sexton probably has some big time fans in the NBA. He was offensively great this year and his defense showed improvement. The Nets dont have a single PG prospect on the roster. They are using Dinwiddie currently. They have a big glut of wing types. I just think it makes sense, especially given DFS struggles. I would say straight up Sexton should have more value.
DFS is shooting 34/28 splits in Brooklyn. I dont know which way it would be, but I dont think it's 100% clear either way. Sexton isnt a playmaker/passer yet. but there arent a lot of PG's available and he's might be their best option at something.Nope. DFS is the type of player that will have like 25 teams interested. Which is why I had a hard on for the tank. We have assets coming out the ears for hell sakes. It’s not going to be hard to add talent, then imagine adding a top 3 pick to that. That’s why you tank in Utah’s position. That’s why I pounded the table and preached for the tank. It would’ve been so easy to build a contender considering the state of the franchise. And now we have to tank next year so we can build a bonafide title contender. I don’t have time for some of YALL’s pride of winning a few games so we can continue to be irrelevant the next 7-10 years. No lol… come on lopo they ain’t giving a pick in that deal. They can cash in DFS for a first instead… I doubt they’d be in on sexton as Dinwiddie is already kinda dribble shoot happy pg. if they were I think straight up is the best you could hope for… sorry. A couple months of bad shooting doesn’t mean DFS stock drops. I bet we’d be adding a sweetenerDFS is shooting 34/28 splits in Brooklyn. That’s the Rob Pelinka Lebron GM method… get talent but get talent that builds on each other… not that just plays alongside. If you can get FVV and trade for Derozan I’m cool with that. You don’t need Dame and Derozan both out there getting cooked on defense.Just get as much talent as possible. Just looked at the ****** teams who could possibly be interested. And Dame has publicly said he would go to Utah as part of his "loyalty" from his college days, so he has an out that fits his image/
