Hard to see the Lakers not matching anything on Reaves. Jeanine Buss is probably convincing herself he's the next Jerry West
Ya I love clarkson but im ready to move on from him. This is arguably his best season of his career and yet I have enjoyed the games when he doesn't play more than when he does and our record doesn't seem to be much worse when he doesn't play.I think he should be in the starting lineup because he rounds out the backcourt better than anyone else I would hope to get. He looks like an elite glue guy and this team needs something like that somewhere on the roster. There will always be room on a roster for a sharpshooter and plus defender, saying nothing of the passing, feel, and intangibles.
Clarkson can get really hot, is really fun, and can win you some games (also can lose you some games…). He will also probably never be as good as he’s been this season since it’s his last contract year of his prime.
No doubt he is earning himself a massive payday. The lakers have hit on a shocking number of late 1st, 2nd rd picks and undrafted free agents over the last 9 years.Hard to see the Lakers not matching anything on Reaves. Jeanine Buss is probably convincing herself he's the next Jerry West
If that’s a thing then I am fine with it. I’m not sure it’s a thing though. Early Bird/RFA/Arenas Provision seems to be the CBA boss fight. **** is squirrelly as hell.4 years 90 million front loaded
Like… I’m pretty sure the Lakers can only offer 105% of the MLE, but they can theoretically match any offer so long as they have space for the 3rd and 4th years of the deal where it could spike from ~MLE to the max… or maybe even beyond the max in those years? If that’s a thing then I am fine with it. I'm fine with it... so long as it doesn't slow down any other business we do... They are very likely to grit their teeth and match and I would not want to miss out on something more solid. This is a great summary.
The Jazz should be the team that takes him or gives LA a very poisoned pill. Jazz will/should have more space than they know what to do with.
BTW: Jazz should also do some recon and poach whoever is digging out all of these prospects for the Lakers. No way it’s just luck at this point.
