What's new

Official 2023 draft night thread!

I know it's not the point to make the perfect lineup, but unless Keyonte George is James Harden this lineup just does not work:

Keyonte
Ochai
Hendricks
Lauri
Kessler

Not a good fit.
That's good cause it's probably never going to be that lineup.

Sexton
Ochai
Lauri
Kelly
Kessler

Replace Kelly with Kuzma if we get him.

Well… in all honesty, does defense still
Win chips? Or is it all about shooting? Warriors and nuggets won without playing good defense. They just have guys who can shoot the **** out of the ball

I've never been in to the idea that the team who won the most recent championship is somehow the new gold standard of how to build a team. I think you just try to build a team with talented two way players and avoid guys that are obvious liabilities at offense or defense.

Even if I'm wrong, I was just stating that this is not how I would personally want them to build a team.

Who's the passer in this lineup? Definitely not the guy who averaged more TOs than assists in college

The ball handler needs to be Luka Doncic for this to work. You've got 4 guys who don't play with the ball in their hands. I also think you're lacking a big wing defender. Ochai is too small, Hendricks is just OK on the ball and better away from it.

I don't really see Ochai as the starting SG of the future so I'm not bothered, but yeah, there's no creation in this lineup.

A second rounder can be had for a future second rounder.

If we don’t get another it could mean we’ve got enough players too develop.

Keynote is just not the guy. Who's the last guy with his sort of college numbers that actually panned out?

In the first half of the season, his shooting and steal numbers were comparable to Bradley Beal at Florida. Then he got injured.
Beal shot 45% in college... Not eye opening but still 8% better than George. I mean injury is part of the game. Are we now taking about a guy with injury issues as well?
