Paul Reed signs 3 yr 24mil offer sheet with Jazz

We aint touching Wood. The reclamation projects we have taken are not headcases.

Furthermore basically every single vet we got are high-charracter hard worker types. Thats damn good atmosphere for the rookies to grow in.

Lets not f that up.

Only want him till we find out what the actual problem is .

A) doesn’t play D

B) likes to play with your D ( hello Amaechi)

C) Doesn’t actually like the game of basketball and reads books before game , whilst sipping cups of tea

D) all of the above

You don't sign a guy like Wood to be a guy on the fringe of rotation minutes. Whatever lockerroom issues he has probably stem from him thinking he should have the ball more/get more minutes.

Yeah - I’m all the way out on Christian Wood. Let someone else take him on. The fact that he’s basically flamed out everywhere he’s gone is a huge red flag.

Sixers matched it. That's a bummer. Any chance we go for PJ Washington?
Doubtful. His RFA qualifying offer is more than what we could offer year 1 with the room exception. I could see him just accepting the QO and then set himself up as a young UDA next year in a weak class.

Jazz should find a relatively young, rotational level guy to fill out the last roster spot. Add some more competition to the roster and hopefully another decent trade chip for down the line.

Kelly Oubre, Jr. and Ayo Dosunmo stand out as guys worth the room exception, but you could also look at a couple of young(ish) minimum salary guys like Omer Yurtseven, Justise Winslow, Derrick Jones, Jr., Darius Bazley, Anthony Lamb, Lindy Waters, Jaylen Nowell or Svi Mykhailiuk to bring into camp and see how they do.

I assume they went after Reed for a reason, so I would expect them to go after another big man

That would be my expectation as well, but I’d rather see them add an asset instead of fill a position at this point. If they’ve got a big they want to bring in - go for it. If they don’t have someone specific in mind, just add the most talented player you can and be opportunistic down the road filling specific needs.

Apparently Wood is a cancer in the lockroom, wants the ball a lot (and if he doesn't get it, he just stands around), and hates playing defense according to reddit. Some of this has to be true since he's not picked up and seems like a dream on paper
