2023 annual Jazzfanz all time NBA draft

Kawhi is a #1 scoring option and clutch as hell in the postseason. Pippen’s a number 2. I thought the former might fall due to injuries and people’s perception of him.
I think Kawhi is a lock for top 30 for a long time. The list of players that are the best perimeter defenders for several years with size to guard bigs, shoot 40% from three, score on and off the ball, and win a finals MVP is one player long.

Having my starting 5 solidified is amazing but waiting 54 picks in between my 5th and 6th pick is brutal.
It’s an improvement from gutting everything you did a couple times over to end up with Steph and MJ, but having kinda nothing (relatively) around them.

Who was around them? I feel like Steph+MJ would be absolutely brutal to play against. Just their gravity would open up so many options for everyone else.

A couple players not drafted yet. It was a pretty rough team outside of 4 players and didn’t really work together all that well.

You really have to nail the end of draft picks because there is just less depth if the guys you hope are there just aren’t. Most of that is not really in your control.

As an example, I wanted Jimmy Butler instead of Middleton. Not sure if that fit is better or worse but Iverson, Harden, Butler, Pippen, Russell seems pretty nasty.

I feel like we have to make some assumptions since we are picking from eras where the 3pt line didn't exist and others where it was barely used.
Sure, but unless we just ban drafting legends that’s always gonna be a topic of debate.

That being said, it’s one thing to say Pistol Pete’s shooting should translate and another to say that Ewing’s or Robinson’s would’ve (they might’ve, KG and Lamarcus Aldridge just never wanted to shoot 3s for reasons I don’t really understand).

That is a good point. I just looked up KG and was shocked at how few 3's he took even later in his career.

I would probably call it my perception. I haven’t had much respect for him in a few years

At least you have your starting five. By the time I make my 4th pick it will have been I think 47 picks between my third and 4th pick

We can’t just assume that.
There’s a few I believe would’ve been good three point shooters. But at the same time Barkley was one of those rare all world pf’s that shot high volume for that time and wasn’t good. Had he not shot a lot I definitely think he would’ve been a good three point shooter in todays game. So you can’t just assume. U just have to go by the data we have.

Damn this has been a slow day. Hopefully we can get rolling at some point this weekend and get through a few rounds in one day.
