Regular Season Streaming called Jazz+

OK, so here is a league pass issue/question I just encountered.

I'm not able to access league pass on my work computer any more. It gives me an error about an out of country VPN (I live in Indiana). I'm guessing whatever security that my work has in place is no longer compatible with whatever measures League Pass has put in place to reduce people getting around their out of market rules with VPNs. I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff, so I can't figure out a way to get around it. Obviously I can ask my work network admins.

My routine, living on EST, is to watch the first half of the game. Go to bed, and then watch the second half of the game using the all possessions recap at work. If someone can't help me resolve this issue, I might have to find another way to waste my time at work.
I would be your work has it blocked or the NBA thinks your work's network, likely VPN'd, is trying to be sneaky.

I'm pretty sure it's the latter. It has worked for me for a long time and then stopped this season. I'm pretty sure they didn't do any updates at my work. I think it's League Pass cracking down on VPNs.

Names I remember from JazzHoops… a few migrated over here over the years but…

VinylJunkie, bordelais, NOTTY, superjazzfan, Cooldude, Sharz, Yell42, MaktubXJ as well as some other guy who was his alt that he claimed was a coworker. I know there’s a lot more and I. Sure I’d remember if I heard the names but it’s been over 20 years.

I posted at both places and even at my message board (fanhome/scout) that I helped run.

I still remember when I went to the Rocky Mountain Review at SLCC and there was a flyer on my car for JazzFanz! That is how I found out about JazzFanz!

Are you saying the VPNs don't unblock the League Pass games that are blacked out? I've never used VPNs before and don't know much about them (I'm planning to get NordVPN).

I was on there as loggrad but I didn't post much, primarily a lurker.

No, it's my VPN at work that is not working with League Pass. I live in Indiana and so I only have blackouts when they play the Pacers. I was trying to watch the Jazz/Clippers game from last night on my work wifi and League Pass gave me an error.

My work uses VPN for security purposes and for whatever reason League Pass is saying that my work VPN is not compatible with League Pass. This is a new issue this year, as I've always been able to watch league pass at work, and I don't think my work has updated anything.

It does feel like League Pass is cracking down on people circumventing their blackout rules with VPNs. I'm not sure how this will affect people trying to do this at home. I believe there are lots of people still doing this, so probably not a big concern, but it is a risk.

I remember walking around the parking lot with those fliers ;) - I think we're old now?

I used VPNs in prior years and ultimately it wasn't worth the pain.

If you want the Jazz, you have Jazz+ in Utah area or NBALP outside. Other than losing a game against a local team if you live near another team market (which you'd have to find the local channel), you have streaming options now for 95% of the games. Since the Jazz aren't on TNT much, even better.

I’m pretty sure that was me, unless @Jason had ever done that. JFC was always big enough that it didn’t need it. Back in the summer of 2002, bordelais and I had been banned from JazzHoops and ended up starting what I believe was JazzForums.com. It never really had much traffic. But I had put some flyers out at SLCC and remember seeing the Phoenix Suns in the parking lot while doing it, back when their team had Joe Johnson and the great Jake Tsakalidis.

ETA: it looks like JazzForums.com is available and I can buy the domain for the low price of $1,988 or lease to own for $497/mo!

How did I not know that Jason was also spamming the RMR SLCC parking lot at the beginning of the century?

OK thanks. I'll have a look into this. Would be a bummer to pay for VPN and find out that it's not working.
