What's new

Chicago is open to trading Zach LaVine

Putrid for sure. LaVine had a total of 2 points with FG% 11.1% and plus/minus -22 in 25 minutes playing time. What's going on with the Bulls? Locker room issues or something else?
It sounds like everything. I think the players know what they have ain't it and that knowledge is becoming evident.

I don't want LaVine. Let him go somewhere else.
I don't either... but if the costs is Collins and Clarkson I can talk myself into it. And if I can talk myself into it purely out of value... then you bet your *** Ainge can talk himself into it. I think the Lakers are holding out hope that Kyrie becomes available but they might be the only team willing to save the Bulls here.

Also Zach is out a week with "foot soreness".

Zach's contract might be the one that starts a pivot in the way these things are viewed. I still have this feeling we end up "getting Zach for free" which @infection will love.

When I'm playing around in trade machine it's kind of hard to make trades for a lot of teams. Some teams just dont have bad/expensive contracts to trade. Like I feel like Orlando makes a lot of sense for him, but who the hell do they trade?

That's the one great thing about Utah, they have a lot of contracts that can add up. None of them are extremely bad or extremely long. Clarkson's even has a huge descending value to it. The Jazz are the most flexible trading team on the market and with so many teams not having that, it could be huge for Utah.

I just dont want to use that on Zach LaVine.

We have enough players to do two big deals like that though.

We will see if my trader Danny theory holds true. He may not like Zach but if there was ever a "we can fix him" buy low opportunity... this is it.

Trying to look at a couple angles… LaVine is just one year longer than Collins/Sexton. But it’s much harder to move LaVine unless there’s some rehab. But let’s say you rehab him, what kind of return are you realistically be getting back for flipping him? I mean, looking at the Collins’ deal as a rehab, congrats, you’ve upgraded to LaVine. To me it’s like having $40M that you park in CDs for 2% for 3 years and at the end say “made $2.4M off that deal and people think it was dumb lololololol”

Maybe we trade LaVine for Donovan.

What if it was THT and JC we traded for Lavine. Then its two free projects for one mega free mega project.

I think Ainge wants to be the guy that traded his way from a paper clip to a house on craigslist or whatever. I think LaVine would be a guy you are thinking can be an all-star again and keeping. Likely not trading up from there but maybe.

The more and more I play with the trade machine the more I lean towards just saying **** it and trading Lauri.
OKC should be calling us daily and throwing out some wild offers imo. He is such a perfect fit for them and the salary is easy to match. Plus he's the type of star that would stay in a small market. Maybe they are eyeing it and waiting to see how healthy they will be around the trade deadline.

Before the whole Giddey situation happened, Giddey would have made a lot of sense as the star player in the trade to send back. Now.....

It's weird. I'd take Cason, but I dont love the idea of Cason being the headline player we get back. But that is the best we would get back in terms of player assets.

I think they would really want to keep Cason. Maybe Giddy's stuff gets swept under the rug and they move him to a 3rd team. I think it would be like 5 picks and Dieng type of deal. Maybe they route picks, Giddy to a 3rd team who sends us a prospect... like maybe Williams in chicago or Kuminga in GS... like not as good of a prospect as Giddy but one that doesn't hook up with HS girls.

IDK we have a lot of picks so maybe that isn't ideal.

Would they really give up 5 picks for Lauri? OKC doesn't seem to be in a rush to do anything.
