Game Thread Dec 13, 2023 07:00PM MT: Jazz vs. Knicks

Added to Calendar: 12-13-23

depending on who is good to go it would be fun to see a starting line up of
Key
ochai
simone
lauri
kessler

No Collins or Clarkson... with Walker and Lauri coming back this is kind of interesting. If Walker plays well will fuel the fire that Collins is part of the issue with Kessler's slow start.

Has Collins played with a healthy Lauri and Walker? Have they all played with Keynote or that garbage back court THT and Clarkson?

It's been pretty obvious that the problem with the team is the trio of hot garbage THT, Sexton, and Clarkson. Second is health of the team and the coach forcing Collins to play center often with the trio above.

I am not saying Collins is THE problem with the team, but Walker specifically takes a bit of a different role or Collins takes a different role than their ideal role when they play together. Obviously other factors but that's why the configuration tonight is going to be interesting. Keyonte, Simone, Walker, Lauri and Ochai maybe? If the floor is space does Walker do better and are we able to hit him on a few PnRs?

Just saying its interesting not attacking Collins.

Collins has spaced the floor though. Kessler got hurt early in the season and has been playing with awful guard play. We really need to see a healthy team playing with Keynote. I haven't seen an issue with the two playing together I've seen other huge issues. Guards who can't/don't pass create a lot problems.

Either way it will be nice to see playing time with Key and Lauri playing together. Also Fonteccio is a good fit with those two I hope he stays aggressive.

He's shot well but that isn't synonymous with providing floor spacing. People aren't too worried about him shooting and if you close hard he's really not gonna punish you off the dribble. Again... this isn't some attack on Collins its just if he is in the screener action Kessler is hanging in the dunkers spot or corner and vice versa. Its not like either guy is running off of screens for threes like Tech or Ochai can.

Both guys hurt by our bricky guards of course. I am just excited to see this iteration of the lineup as it makes more sense to me. If Collins brought what Kessler does on defense then his mid offense is okay. I see Walker as necessary to have a competent defense and if those two aren't good together (and they have been awful) then its a problem.

Plus I feel like Collins is the biggest blockage for some Tay Henny minutes.

Man, this is the most excited I have been to see the jazz play since the first couple games.

Collins also takes minutes from KO, who is one of our best players.
