The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

So the gold standard and I had a discussion about electoral voting vs popular vote. During the discussion he said he prefers electoral voting. He also said he hates the two party system and wishes more people would vote for the independent/3rd party candidate.

Well arguably the most successful independent/3rd party candidate of all time is Ross Perot. He got 18.9% of the total votes! 19,743,821 votes! You know how many electoral votes he got in that election? ZERO. Lol. 19,743,821 voters votes were thrown in the trash. Why the hell would anyone ever vote for a candidate who isn't a republican or democrat if we continue to use our current stupid system to determine the winner?

The two parties love the electoral system. If you hate the two party system then you should hate the electoral system of voting.

“Did you hear what he said yesterday, or a couple days ago?” Rogan asked his guest, MMA fighter Bo Nickal, in an exchange first flagged by Mediaite. “He’s talking about the Revolutionary War. He’s like, ‘One of the reasons why we lost the Revolutionary War ... was that they didn’t have enough airports.’”

“If you were you at any other job, and you were talking like that, they’d go, ‘Hey, you’re done,’” he added.

Rogan thought that was a Biden quote when it was actually trump who said that lolololololololol.

Awkward.

Even more awkward? Seconds after making his false Biden assertion, Rogan had complained about the “media gaslighting people.”

Interestingly, after learning it was Trump who made the mistake, Rogan didn’t seem to think it was such a big deal.

“So, he ****ed up,” he said with a laugh.

That media bias showing up again.

Roosevelt outpolled Taft in 1912, with 88 votes in the EC.

State Representative Matt Hall, state representative for Michigan's 42nd District, posted for his followers a local news article which states that "Michigan’s income tax cut won’t be permanent in 2024."
"Lansing Democrats are raising your income taxes on New Year's Day to pay for their wasteful spending," Hall wrote. "You deserve relief from the high costs of living — not higher taxes."

But his own followers were quick to point out an apparent error about the local parties and their respective responsibilities.

"Oooh, the BIG BAD DEMOCRATS cry comes out again... Hey, Matt, how about we wake up to the fact that the Republican legislature and a Republican governor signed that law?" one commenter said. "Oh, and what are you here for? Don't you have any leadership thoughts or is it all about 'owning the libs'?"

Another user wrote, "Your party put taxes on pensions. People haven’t forgotten that."

"Fun Fact: The tax law Numbnuts is referring to was passed by a Republican legislature and signed by a Republican governor," Timmer wrote.

A local Democrat also hit back.

"You know better, Matt. Rick Snyder signed this flawed legislation back in 2015 when Republicans had control in Lansing. Democrats are cleaning up the mess," Austin Marsman wrote on Tuesday.

Good. I’m glad truth was told. I’m tired of the lies and disinformation we see from so many.

Nice find! I find it hilarious that little things like these trigger Donald so much. The dude is facing a lifetime in prison for his crimes but someone calling him stinky is what really gets him upset! Lol

Reminds me of a successful ad the LP did the summer of 2020. They had one of the female adult “stars” that Donald had uhhh “worked with” talk about how tired and limp he was looking. Apparently they really triggered him. Probably threw a few ketchup bottles at the wall over that ad. Rick Wilson explained how Trump became so angry, that he directed his campaign to run a few ads refuting the LP‘s one ad. It was done in DC. And anyone familiar with DC would’ve known that Donald investing ads summer of 2020 in DC was like flushing money down the toilet. But great leader has to be appeased!

US European allies appear reluctant to join US in operation prosperity guardian. Seems like many are questioning US leadership especially in Gaza and are distancing themselves from the US in new operations like this one.

The US has told 20 of its best friends they are coming to this party and only about half have acknowledged participation and many of those are maintaining their own command or are participating with stipulations. Wasn’t trump supposed to be the one to sour our allies on us? Even Reuters is reporting in this so you know it is bad.

You're aware that historically our European allies have not had the same relationship with Israel that we have had?

Ok thx bye

Well ya. US leadership sucks.

Would be awesome to have a leader who doesn't suck in 2025 but sadly we don't have that option.

I bet if dear leader were president, no European Ally would have questions about Israel’s conduct against Hamas. In fact, no country would question how Israel has acted since Oct 7. Dear Leader does everything well. Biden does everything bad. I love Dear Leader.

Once again I interrupted the Trump obsession. I shoulda left that one sentence out of my post, but I knew it’d already be a topic of discussion here in the Biden admin thread anyway. It appears to remain as the only thing that occupies thrillers mind.

You got the title of the thread wrong.

“I think that a guy like me as the nominee will be able to keep the focus on Biden, keep the focus on the Democrats’ failures,” DeSantis said, “but then, more importantly, after you win the election, start holding these people accountable, who have weaponized the legal system to go after their political enemies.”

(I love how his campaign wouldn't focus on making the country better but rather just focus on flaming the dems. That should improve my life greatly. Sounds great)

“And that starts with day one, firing somebody like Jack Smith. That goes to dealing with people who are violating constitutional rights at the state and local government area,” he added.

(Kind of messed up that he doesn't want trump to have the opportunity to show everyone how innocent he is.)

DeSantis’s remarks echo much of the sentiment in Trumps remarks, which often focus on the so-called “weaponization” of the Justice Department and holding accountable those responsible for some of Trump’s legal troubles. In pledging to fire Smith, DeSantis further aligns himself with some of Trump’s campaign promises.

(Bend the knee and kiss the ring Desantis. Well done.)

The Jan/Feb issue of The Atlantic is a collection of essays with the theme “If Trump wins” a second term. The 12/29/23 edition of PBS Washington Week was a panel discussion involving several of the authors in that issue, discussing what we might expect from a second term:

I thought this was interesting. Fox has such a vast and malignant influence on Americans. It not only fills them with garbage informaion but turns them more cynical and angrier people:
