The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

speaking of who should be in prison i was talking to a bloke who used to be a reporter for the Age last week and did a lot of the legwork in the investigation into the robodebt scheme. How the effing hell there haven't been criminal charges resulting from that abominable scheme beggars belief

The minister was told innumerable times that the system wouldn't work and the potential outcomes for vulnerable people would be serious and they still went ahead with it. How many people ended up killing themselves due to receiving recovery notices for imaginary debts? Pack of arseholes.

I've know a heap of people who are genuinely under or unemployed, for them scraping by negotiating Centrelink while trying to get a couple of shifts somewhere doing something for like maybe 100 bucks cash or 18 bucks an hour on the books is a ****ing nightmare. And they can struggle on like this for years, then imagine you finally get a job that pays enough to get off welfare and 5 or 6 years later you get a 20,000 dollar bill off these *****. Basically just the state grinding the poorest people into the dust.

lol you don't think every single sitting member of congress or the senate would have something you could prosecute if you dug deep enough for long enough ??

I mean insider trading there is a joke. Half your politicians should be in jail for insider trading if everything was investigated and prosecuted no ??
Lobbying exists so this is a pretty shallow later of dirt to get through.

This type of thinking not only isn’t accurate but it also leads to nihilism. And it only benefits authoritarianism.

Nearly 300,000 jobs created!

Wages up too!

We’re in a Great Depression! Better vote for fascism.

Wait I Heard it from someone while waterskiing behind my new boat that I towed behind my new truck for the week vacation I'm taking from my very steady job that someone else says Trump Said the economy is in the crapper. So, it is in the crapper. This crapper crap shall not stand!

Weaponization of the department of justice against Democrats right?

Even accepting all the government’s allegations as true, it’s hard to understand why it is prosecuting the younger Biden: At the time he purchased a firearm, Biden was a nonviolent, 40-something struggling drug addict with zero criminal history. He proceeded to possess a firearm for 11 days and did not use it for any purpose (let alone in a crime).

It has been reported that he is charged with a crime that has almost never been prosecuted – an addict without criminal history misrepresenting his addiction on a firearm purchase form.

Why is Hunter Biden being prosecuted? Precedent doesn't explain it.
Modern prosecutors’ offices have developed simple guideposts for whether to prosecute gun possession:
Was it used in a crime?

Was the purchaser a felon?

Was the purchaser a suspect in another (typically, violent) crime?

Did the purchaser have a criminal record?

Was the person a danger to the community?

That is: From all available information, in this time where violent crime is every office’s priority and nonviolent addicts are treated differently than they once were, I cannot conceive of an office spending any resources – let alone five-plus years, countless agents and numerous prosecutors – on a case with similar facts.

As right-wing former Congressman – and former federal prosecutor – Trey Gowdy said last week, “We never prosecuted addicts for lying and buying on federal forms.”

The tax case, by contrast, raises questions for a different reason: The DOJ has a long history of engaging with nonviolent, middle-age men who fail to pay taxes – even those connected to politicians and presidents. As has been extensively reported, however, that engagement almost never results in criminal charges when the tax avoider pays what is owed.

Roger Stone owed nearly $2 million in taxes and this same DOJ pursued that civilly, not via criminal charges. Rudy Giuliani owes $550,000 in taxes, and this DOJ has not charged him. Hunter Biden's lawyers said he repaid the back taxes, and he faces multiple felony charges?

That is great news. It appears Biden is doing his duty.

Duty. Get it? It is another word for poop and Biden did the poop in his pants thing at the D-Day celebration so this is a clever play on words.

Ahh, too funny. I crack myself up.

Did you know they already have shirts for sale on Amazon?

@Red i thought Biden’s speech at Normandy was fantastic. I also find it telling that trumpers found it offensive. Any speech where civic virtue is mentioned or anything that talks about fighting for democracy, Trumpers find it as an attack on Trump and MAGA. Quite telling.

This never happened. For one thing, he’d be sitting there in his own s***, standing there giving what was a great speech with his pants sagging in s***. It never happened.

lol!

How are we supposed to function as a society when people can find whatever news accommodates their feelings/fluffs their identities?

It was a great address, aimed at his domestic audience. Meanwhile, Trump’s biggest concern seems to be “evil forces”. He’ll probably demand an exorcism before the first debate.

The Rapist projecting again.

I know. Biden most likely didn't poop himself. He had another senior moment and became confused on the stage direction which led him to believe it was time to take their seats when everyone else on the stage knew there was more to the introduction. When Jill didn't begin to sit, Biden stopped mid-pose while everyone else on the stage stayed standing upright.

Will history remember what really happened? That I don't know. If Trump starts making poop pants jokes at his next rally, half the nation is going to firmly believe Joe Biden pooped his pants at the D-Day commemoration ceremony and the memes almost make themselves. We'll see if there a ... movement ... in the polls.
