The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

I don't think there's been too many times where Israel and Iran are so openly threatening and attacking each other. There's been reports of Hezbollah evacuating their bases in Lebanon as preparation to avoid retaliatory strikes from Israel. So yes obviously US foreign policy has always contributed to political instability but the looming threat of the US clearly backing Israel has often been perceived as preventing more acute all out conflict. So your'e missing the point. Or choosing to Enjoy your laugh
Your point was that the US has been a stabilizing force. Maybe you want to change that point now but that is what it was. But that is incorrect.
We have been meddling in the middle east for decades and decades and decades. And there has always been conflict.

Regarding this specific conflict happening right now? Ya you are right. Gaza, Israel, Palestine and Iran have typically been beacons of peace and cooperation throughout history lol. The fact that Biden is president is what is causing turmoil in an area typically free of turmoil.

I'm primarily concerned because the middle east is literally about to explode at a new very very dangerous level. Traditionally the leader of the free world ie the US President would somehow be some kind of stabilising influence. Typically the US leader is some kind of impressive statesman like Obama, Clinton, Reagan. Now there's a corpse in the White House, soon to be replaced either by a criminal buffoon or a useful idiot.

The world is at a very unstable dangerous point in history. I just find it stunning more people aren't concerned.

Putting my own bias and personal acrimony aside, I thought Obama's diplomacy was incredibly smart for the most part, he contained the Russians by keeping the price of oil down, his policy toward the middle east however was sadly lacking, in his 8 years Israel completely walked away from anything resembling a peace process and set about the course of history that has led to todays genocide in Gaza. Despite it being a vanity project for the most part, Clinton was the last American leader to have any real authority in the middle east.

it’s truly weird to hear posters whine about American foreign policy failing when we’ve lost the least amount of soldiers in the last 4 years as any other span in my adult life. If saving American soldier life is your top priority, then you should be loving Biden’s foreign policy. I’m old enough to remember when we were losing dozens of soldiers daily in 2006.

I get it, I’m old and still read print media. I should probably listen to my steroid pumped bros who dropped out of high school talk about foreign policy. I’m also old and actually had to find new jobs during the Great Recession. So I actually know what a bad economy is like. And anyone here remember preconditions pre-Obamacare?

"From claiming he doesn't know what race Vice President Kamala Harris identifies as, to nicknaming the 2024 Democratic nominee "Kamabla" — former President Donald Trump has yet to hold back on using racist tropes in an effort to intimidate his opponent.

On Tuesday, an X (formerly Twitter) account called Trump War Room — which calls itself "The Official War Room account of the 2024 Trump campaign" — posted a jab at Harris that many political experts deem outright racist.

The account published two side-by-side photos. One of a neighborhood featuring brick homes with pristine lawns, and American flags waving in the front yard, captioned: "Your neighborhood under Trump." The other photo consisted of Black and brown people sitting outside on the street, captioned: "Your neighborhood under Kamala." The words "Import the third world, become the third world," were also added to the post.

In shock, James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor and MSNBC analyst Eddie Glaude Jr. replied: "I mean…damn"

Conservative lawyer George Conway wrote: "Is this kinda racist? ’Cause it seems kinda racist"

Journalist Jonathan Greenberg commented: "The more desperate Trump feels, the more crass & apparent his racism & lies become. Trump's long overdue death spiral of dementia, hatred & jealousy has begun. It will only worsen. While for Harris, the best is yet to come!"

"The signs of totalitarianism [re. donOLD tRUMP] are here.A "fake strong man" emerges, who claims only he can fix it all.Only the followers of the strong man/movement are patriots.Tell big lies/falsehoods/conspiracies.Wave lots of flags.Proclaim extreme nationalism.Dismantle the justice system to install a loyal one.Use simple words repeatedly, to limit critical reasoning.Claim the press is the enemy of the people.Desire to rule, by a loyal minority.Threaten to lock up opponents once in power.Show contempt for free elections/democratic republics.Foment fear of foreigners.Reject modernism, go back to the past.Install loyalists at all levels of government.Incite violence subtly, with plausible deniability.Obsess over national security, when in no danger.Have an easily identifiable symbol for the movement.Demonize opponents with lies and labels like 've rmin,' etc.Claim a decline in morality, caused by other groups.Blame opponents for a bad economy and other problems.Use the military within the country to enforce control.Gather a middle/lower-class group who used to feel in power. Tell them they are victims, but can regain their power if the bad guys are taken out and the strong man is installed."

Although I am firmly convinced that Trump is a full-on near-nazi level racist and classist, I seriously doubt this account was officially connected to him at all. Twitter does a terrible job policing fake accounts and they will be allowed as long as they are inflammatory enough. This one will be active for the long-haul in that case. Stupid.
