They do exist. But now they are closer to the middle than they ever were before. Want to know why we have more people claiming they are "independent" than ever before? It's the disenfranchised traditional conservatives that make up a large portion of those. Like my parents, and countless other people I know. Where they still feel something of the familiar in what Trump stands for, enough that when their friends and family say they are voting for Trump they have to wonder, is this what it means to be conservative now? And that's why they are split. They don't know which way to go any more. My mom is a great example. She's shocked her friends and family want Trump, she sees what he did to the party and the country and will not vote for him. But damn it's hard to vote for a Democrat. She feels she has no choices at all that reflect what she believes. And that's very true. She'll vote for Harris though. Because she sees the danger Trump is. But she'll do so through gritted teeth.

I find it interesting why they find it hard to vote for a Democrat other than blind tribalism. Harris has adopted many Republican positions. I find it weird that people find it hard to vote for someone they agree with 75 percent of the time. Especially when the competition is Trump, someone who many of these Republicans should disagree with on every major issue (if they ever cared about policy).

That’s because you’re a decent person. For many of these people, they’re choosing to act their own worst selves. It’s easier for them to just let their hate, paranoia, and ugliness free. Plus, you get to play victim all the time. Trump gives these people a license to act out their worst fantasies. Which is typical of fascist leaders/movements, be it Nazi germany, Rwanda, or Hungary. I’ve been reading some books on authoritarian psychology. And sadly this is pretty typical. Trump attracts disgusting people and they provide him the love and praise he never got as a child. He reciprocates by providing cult followers with a license to be their worst selves. There is freedom in being free from the constraints of decency and moderation. There is entertainment and thrill in saying the worst things you can thing of. Acting on impulse rather than thought is easier and requires zero self-reflection. Without self-reflection, you don’t ever have to take responsibility or apologize. Which, you can see MAGA has taken to heart. Apology and accountability are things they reject.

Often, these movements die out because political parties and elites stop them. In this case, the GOP and Fox News opened the door and allowed him in. And now he’s taken over the party. The conservative elite could’ve taken Trump out a long time ago, the 2015 primary, the 2016 election (after access Hollywood), and had two impeachments.

Had they taken advantage of that last impeachment and ended Trump after Jan 6, just imagine where they’d be today.

This election should be a slam dunk for republicans. If they can ever separate from the cult of Trump and get someone like Romney running again, they'd be doing great.

I like Harris. She’s not my favorite but I think she’s a good candidate. A normal democratic politician. One that actually has some skills, winning a few state wide positions as a Democrat in CA isn’t easy!

I like how she supports Ukraine, supports women getting health care, supports the constitution, is a very good public speaker, and is generally pro freedom. I’m not a fan of her immigration policy. But that’s okay, I don’t have to agree with a candidate 100 percent to support them. I think she’s a fine candidate and will be a very good president over the next 8 years. I’m not sure why people think every president needs to be Abraham Lincoln, FDR, or Biden. There are plenty of eienshowers who just take care of business.

Btw, that’s not a typo. I challenge anyone on this board to name me 6 presidents with worse conditions and accomplished more. I have a feeling you’ll struggle to find 4 or 5 tbh. It’s not popular for media figures to admit, but Biden has easily been the best president we’ve had in our lifetimes.

My coworker put on a video at work of trump being interviewed by bloomberg. Its over an hour long and I have listened to a good chunk of it just being in/around the room its being played in. You would think that there is no one interviewing him. Its just trump talking. Rambling. Most of it makes no sense and is irrelevant to anything. So much of what he says is structured like this "I know a guy who makes cars. He has a huge factory. He makes great cars. One time he told me that china is so hard to compete against. He tells me 'sir, my cars aren't the same quality as china's and so im going out of business. Is there anything you can do to help me' then he started to cry. I tell him I can charge a tariff on china and save your company. 'He tells me, thank you sir. I appreciate everything you do for me'. No one can make deals like me" and then rambles on to the next word salad. He talks about how he knows a lot of people in the audience and crap. I believe The Thriller calls it "flooding the zone" or something. He simply never stops bull ********.

He just said "13.099 people were released into our country. All murders. All in jail. Many on the death penalty" I mean what is the interviewer supposed to do with a statement like that? trump doesn't show where he got the numbers from. He doesn't provide specifics or context or anything. Just says stuff.

He just said "Venezuala, their crime has gone down at levels no one has ever seen before. Because they have taken their street gangs, their drug dealers and they've emptied their prisons. Let me ask you, why would I need to add on to the Trump hate in this forum? What will it do? Literally almost all the posters flood the forum with Trump hate, all day, everything he does, everything he says, everything he tweets. ALL DAY. What's the point? There is nothing new coming from this, it's just the same old hit pieces and the same old terms used towards him. What do I add to this? Nothing. Literally nothing. I don't want to be apart of the echo chamber. It's the reason why people who have different views can't have an honest debate. Worse Candidate for the election or as a person? It's 2 different things that I am talking about. Kamala is the worse candidate for this election. She is terrible, worse than Trump. She will lose it and you will have Trump for 4 more years. You got 3 Supreme Court Justices running a terrible candidate and you might get 2 more because your overlords chose the worse candidate for this election. Again, this is not me, this is the Democratic Party, get mad at them.

Communication skills, lack of depth, no charisma, no history, no real accomplishments, lack of persuasion, no real passion about topics, lack of knowledge on topics. You can say the same thing about Trump but you look at a few of these items on this list, and if you are honest with yourself, Trump can out perform her on almost all of these things. She is a better Human, than Trump. But we are not voting on the best Human.
