Donald Trump is a president at the height of his political power — and well aware of it. After a month spent disrupting federal agencies, laying off thousands of veterans and publicly humiliating Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office, Trump clearly feels untouchable.

But as recent MAGA history so often reminds us, Trump’s most overconfident moments tend to precede his most spectacular missteps. After all, it was a reckless and questionable phone call to Zelensky that landed Trump his first of two impeachments. Now, his ego-driven fumbles risk further inflaming an already divided and unstable world order. Some “Golden Age.”

Trump’s sense of invincibility is sure to be on full display tonight when he addresses Congress, likely to become one of the most closely analyzed speeches in history. With world capitals still reeling from Friday’s Zelensky debacle and the federal government just over a week from a costly shutdown, leaders from Kansas City to Kyiv are looking to Trump for leadership.

Get ready to be disappointed.

I'm sure he will just be saying what a great job he is doing and how they are saving so much money. Nobody has ever done as many great things in their first month like me blah blah blah etc etc.

We already know what he is going to say tonight.
He is the greatest ever at everything and anyone who has ever crossed him is the worst ever. He has never made a mistake. DOGE is perfect and is anyone thinks it isn't perfect then they are corrupt. His interview with zelensky was absolutely perfect in his part of it and zelensky was the worst ever.
Etc etc etc. Anything wrong with the country currently is all Biden and Obama fault.

Russia and trump have been helping each other for decades.
Kim jeong un and trump are in love with each other as pen pals. Saudi Arabia gave the trump family billions.

Don't forget old Donald prior to being the second orange coming of republican Jesus, made a fortune doing business with Russian oligarchs and by a fortune I mean probably made deals the barely broke even cause he's a ****ing **** business man.

What does illegal protests in American universities normally mean, currently? Demonstrations that ate not beforehand accepted by the authorities? Or something more serious, like demonstrations and protests involving vandalism, violence or such? (Which I would guess to be it)

However, do you guys think this declaration will mean every protest has to be applied to have a permission, and if it's about any topic not mentioned in the application, it will be deemed illegal? Or if someone will try get permission to protest against politics going on, no permissions will be granted?

I think it is going to be more along the lines of "We are on the path to ending the war in Ukraine. Zelensky and I had a great phone call. The mineral deal which was the first step to peace has been signed, and we are negotiating with both sides to bring about a cease fire." Then I hope he calls out Democrat Senator Chris Murphy by name for his interference in the process which brought about the diplomatic impasse last Friday, and should be seen as little short of a crime against humanity.

This is the problem with Trump. He says this with no code to explain how it's determined or enforced so he can make it be whatever he wants. Just like closing down entire departments of the federal government and just saying "they were corrupt" with no proof or explanation. And no one can stop them, or will even try. I would wager we begin to see actual violence against American citizens within the first year of this fiasco of a presidency.
