Trump Dictatorship and All Things Politics

Look, I'm done with this discussion. I'm not reading anymore of your drivel about this.
The question you asked to start this idiotic conversation was "is fentanyl a problem though?"
The answer is simply yes. It's an extremely addictive AND extremely deadly drug. Of course the answer is yes. Don't ask such stupid questions.

I think you guys both make good points.

Fair enough. No one denied it was a problem. How much of a problem is it and what should be done about it is debatable. I believe in a robust social safety net but I also believe that individuals need to take greater accountability for their own actions. Drugs are bad stay away from them. Many Americans make poor decisions, giving way to their impulses like animals, and then whine for a strong man to bail them out of the messes they’ve created for themselves.

I do also wonder if fentanyl is being used as a cudgel against those that republicans despise. Do they actually care about fentanyl or are they merely making it an issue to attack minorities and immigrants? Just as they do with many other issues. “Free speech” and “women’s sports” when really they just want to punish the speech they disagree with and hurt the trans community.

I hope addicts and recovering addicts keep this in mind next election. Trump wants to keep this addiction going. The worse addiction becomes the more he can fear monger against the races he hates. If these people are too stupid to understand that they’re being exploited… what am I supposed to do?

THEY ARE USING FENTANYL BECAUSE IT MATTERS TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO LOSE PEOPLE THEY LOVE BECAUSE OF FENTANYL.

Wake the **** up!

Just because Trumpers have latched onto fentanyl doesn't mean fentanyl doesn't matter. Stop being like a liberal MAGA tard! Try at least. You're so ****ing identical in the way you approach these issues to the cultists that I think you became who you are the same way they did, by digesting endless propaganda. You are obviously not persuadable, you are a die hard cultist of your own version of politics. I don't value your opinions or view points any more than I do PJFs. I just happen to agree with you more often than I do PJF. No credit to you.

Does Narcan really save 100,000+ lives a year? That's crazy.
Probably.

Opioids suppress the respiratory system to the point people stop breathing and die. Narcan stimulates the respiratory system immediately, so that people dying from opioids don't die.

Fentanyl is extremely potent compared to most other opioids, so people die a lot more often if the opioids they buy, even if they did not ask for fentanyl, contain fentanyl. No one is specifically addicted to fentanyl. The soccer mom with the Percocet prescription is addicted to the exact same thing the homeless guy who dies from fentanyl is addicted to.

Lol what?! I don’t consume propaganda. Haha theyre using fentanyl because it’s a cudgel against immigrants and blacks. They’re not interested in actually saving addicts or helping the situation. If they really cared they wouldn’t be cutting treatment and social safety nets. If they cared they’d actually support Medicaid, not cut it. If they cared they wouldn’t defund Narcan.

You accuse me of being all these things but you’ve had to present any evidence to support your view. Did you even read the article I posted in the post you quoted from me above?

Wake up

I grow tired of always being the one expected to bring the (reputable) receipts while some of you just crap out evidence free takes everyday. Sure, stay in your worldview. Let your opinion guide you rather than letting reading and facts guide you to form your own opinions and view of the world. I get it, it’s more comfortable to not read anything.

From the article:
And though the focus of the Trump administration’s Office of National Drug Control Policy is weighted toward border policing and drug prosecutions, its priorities, released in an official statement this month, include the goal of expanding access to “lifesaving opioid overdose reversal medications like naloxone.”

“They immediately reference how much they want to support first responders and naloxone distribution,” said Rachel Winograd, director of the addiction science team at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, who oversees the state’s federally funded naloxone program. “Juxtaposing those statements of support with the proposed eliminations is extremely confusing.”

Pssss. It’s not confusing. It’s because they actually don’t give a ****. It’s because they know they can bitch about fentanyl and get people to vote for them to hurt poc and immigrants (the stuff republicans want to do). Not actually serve the addicted or help aid with the opioid crisis. In fact, the worse the crisis becomes the better of an issue they can make it. Just as Trump did this last fall. “The scary brown horde that is taking your jobs and eating your scary pets is scary poisoning the nation’s blood with scary fentanyl! Vote for fascism!”

If Americans are too stupid to see how they’re being exploited by the world’s dumbest fascist? I don’t know what to tell ya. Try reading some history books or newspapers instead of consuming propaganda? I dunno

Yeah I already tried going there and just got mocked for it. Just because the cult of the left isn't the cult trying to destroy the fabric of our society doesn't make it any less a cult. It's just not as overtly dangerous at this moment.

I get the mechanics (pharm student in a past life), I'm just surprised there are that many folks 1) addicted to opioids 2) buying stuff off the street, that is then fent laced 3) Narcan is readily available in enough of those situations to help.

But yeah, looking at some rough stats, folks estimate approx 3.5% of the US are using opioids. That's insane.

Soccer moms should probably not regularly be on oxy, certainly not to the point of addiction. We've got a serious problem with just throwing pills at things in our healthcare system.

What cult? Leftists can't agree on anything lol
Yeah I’m not sure what these doofuses are referring to. The left doesn’t have a cult. And pretending that the right doesn’t fear monger drugs and drug addiction in order to push their disgusting race politics is exactly the type of “blind moderation” that has gotten us into this mess.

“Well maybe Trump and Musk really do just want to save the government money.”

“Well maybe trans rights have gone too far. Republicans merely care about women’s sports.”

“Well actually, the left is responsible for this. This is merely conservative backlash. Break bread with Trump and his fascists!”

Like… again, I don’t know what we’re missing here. It’s pretty obvious that Trump and republicans don’t actually give a **** about fentanyl as long as it can be used to scare people into giving them their votes and money. And it’s weird that people who supposedly care about drug and drug addiction keep voting for the party that attacks social safety services. If you truly care about drugs, why aren’t you super pissed at Trump and the GOP cutting drug recovery services?

But sure… both sides. And both sides have a cult. Or something

The Rapist halting funding to NPR and PBS. He's also removing Harvard's tax exempt status. Retribution tour continues while Republican Congress sucks his #$%@.
Both sides guys both sides. The left also has a cult cuz they once criticized Fox News. So what Trump is doing is equivalent. In fact, it’s warranted because it’s just conservative backlash to the left. Both sides just need to come together at a picnic.

I think you're spot on. Fentanyl is used as a boogeyman because it's more prevalent in white communities. They're saying that brown people are responsible for the problem, and they are using that as a justification for the mass deportations. It's obvious, and I don't know why people are getting so offended by what you're saying.

Exactly.

I’m not sure? Cuz it would admit something uncomfortable maybe?

According to the trump administration, who told trump that he alone saved the lives of 240 million Americans due to his policies to stop fentanyl, it's more like 80% or something.
Which is really insane.

Does anyone have stats on this. This is the first that I'm hearing the Fentanyl is more popular in white communities. If that's true than does that mean all opiate/heroin addiction is primarily in the white community? There is no specific addiction to fentanyl. It is popular because it is cheap and potent. That's why people selling dope often add it to whatever flavor of opiate they sell. When they get a little too heavy handed they kill several of their customers.

Kinda agree with Thriller and Fotso here…

Feel like I’m missing something because the other side seems extremely passionate about how wrong they are. Obviously getting fentanyl off the streets is a good thing. But I definitely think the administration use it as a boogeyman (as someone put it) to amplify the border and immigration **** they do, and they care about that way more than low class drug addicts.

A good thing being done for the wrong reasons, maybe? I’m not super well informed so I defer to others but I can definitely see the point that’s being made

This is literally exactly what I posted.
I literally said that trump doesn't actually care about the fentanyl problem and that he is using it as a prop.
But if, (and since I don't trust trump at all, it's a big if) the trump administration is slowing the flow of fentanyl then that's a good thing because fetanyl is a horrible horrible drugs that kills lots of people.
