I can’t afford this Trump economy

Just imagine for a second a Democrat saying this. Like seriously, Trump and republicans are held to zero standards. This is a major problem guys.

It doesn’t ****ing matter if a kid needs 2 dolls or 30. If I’m gonna buy my kid dolls, I shouldn’t have to pay extra because you’re waging a dotarded trade war for no reason you ****ing moron.

Imagine the outrage if a black Democrat (or female) **** on small business owners like this

I don’t understand why you liked this video. He seems to be downplaying Trump as a threat and insinuates that America’s decline is merely sped up with him. Which is odd. What decline? America’s economy prior to Trump’s inauguration was the envy of the world. Wealth inequality being an issue, but that’s more related to domestic politics than anything wrong with the economy. And it’s not like China’s economy was overtaking ours. They have struggles with their middle class and aging workforce. Ironically, our edge comes from immigration, something trumpers are trying to kill off.

Cultural and military power? I don’t see where the decline has occurred. So what American decline is he referring to?

I look at Trump as a major and unique threat, not something that was inevitable or a continuation of previous Republican presidencies. He drives our society to be crueler. He dominates the headlines everyday. He makes trade policy on a whim, like a king. He’s sinking Ukraine and NATO. He’s demanding our economic president and future. He’s ruining alliances. He’s ruining lives daily with his disappearing people, collapsing our own education, health, and scientific institutions. Lastly, he’s a mega constitutional threat, as he has no loyalty to the constitution and zero accountability from his cult and Supreme Court.

I don’t think downplaying him does us any favors nor does acting like America was already in decline paint an accurate picture of what actually has happened. Had Harris and a Democratic congress won out, Ukraine would be well stocked, NATO wouldn’t be threatened, our allies wouldn’t be planning to defend themselves against us, and our economy would be just fine. Sure, eggs might be a lil more expensive than we would’ve liked and housing is an issue (but it’s more of a state’s issue than federal government). Wealth inequality fixes, gun reform, and universal health care would still need to be legislated. But it’s not like the constitution or world order would’ve been threatened. Unlike now, where it’s violated on a daily basis.

Our decline is evident in the environment in which a Trump can come to power, one clear picture of this is the division in the population, but especially among the politicians, which is reflective of that division. I haven't watched that video so I can't comment on that exactly but I've been saying for years that the 2-party system will destroy America and we are seeing the beginnings of that in Trump. How much does the next tyrant learn from Trump's run, how much more effective do they get taking power. Next time might not be so bloodless, regardless of who "let's it". But we are on the razors edge of the collapse of the Republic. This is a decent picture of when it started and how it has progressed. It might not be immediately imminent but it's coming.

Bummer I saw one of these that went 2 Congress further to 2015, I believe, and it was pretty much completely split in tight little balls. Our politicians, and by extension somewhat at least our population, are as divided as they can be. This doesn't lead to the best outcomes and doesn't lead to solutions that are best for the population, but rather to decisions that are best for the party. And these are the people we voted in. They aren't concerned about what's best for the people, and the people seem to just want to see their side win. It's the perfect environment for demagogues. And then we get Trump. It isn't going to get better unless we find a way to blend this back together. In Congress and in our society. We desperately need a third viable party at least. Most of the most stable and best run countries have between 4 and 6 viable parties. But we will likely just have the 2 until it collapses and gets rebuilt.

That was a great watch. They were about as fair to trump as they could be yet still came across as highly critical. Even the trump voter and supporter came across as anti trump.
If you have a little bit of an open mind and a little bit of intelligence and aren't drunk on the cult koolaid then it's pretty hard to give trump a good grade so far.

Buffet is getting out of Dod(g)e while this whole thing crashes. He’s been the business and financial investment North Star and wants nothing to do with what’s coming.

Makes sense, the markets are obviously compromised. We’re moving into the financialization stage and all bets are off. His theories no longer apply.

Just go watch CNBC. They’re panicking.

He says "young lady" referring to 9-year-olds as if they are in his beauty pageant dressing room then tries to cover it up by referring to 15-year-olds... who plays with dolls. ****ing rapist pig.

Mr. Wolff is a Marxist, as one myself it's not too surprising he was quite critical of the US prior to Trump.
That’s what I figured.

I support a much stronger social safety net and greater public investment in institutions and services. Our tax policy is garbage and our gun laws are a joke. Yet, I don’t buy into “America has been in decline for years.”

Good video.

Ultimately, I think what you’re describing are two different issues:

1. Institutional problems with our politics (i e, electoral college, how we do primaries, money in politics, our political seasons). These fuel cultural division but aren’t the root cause.

And

2. Our social problems; a people so decadent and bored as ****, that they’re desperately inventing new divisions and wars for attention. The grift on the right is so real and prevalent. Andrew Tate, Benny Johnson, Joe Rogan, Facebook, twitter, Fox News make so much ****ing money just pumping poison into our country. You’ll never find truth or come to a consensus when millions aren’t getting their information from people and institutions built on fragmentation.

I don’t know how you solve the latter. But i do think some legislation could solve a lot of the former. You just can’t solve the legislative piece without overwhelming majorities in congress. And you can’t get those majorities when people would rather vote against their own interests.

The problem is the legislation needed is specifically to restrain the politicians and will affect their ability to cash in on their positions. That's the problem. We need them disconnected from big money more than anything else really, yet this means they are disincentivized to pass such legislation, on both sides. First and foremost we need to eliminate the lobby, yet this is where we see politicians come into office as wealthy people and leave as multimillionaires with lucrative corporate connections. Why would they ever vote against these connections when their personal benefit is so great? No way to ever get meaningful legislation passed in this context.

I don’t see big money as the biggest problem with politics and it’s definitely not impacting both sides evenly. Party primaries are the biggest problem. If you’re on the right you can’t say anything negative against Orange god king or else you’ll be primaried at the least and terrorized or killed at the worst. You can’t have legislators fearing for their lives if they’re disloyal to one man. That’s the #1 problem in my view and it’s disproportionally impacting one party, causing our entire democracy to collapse.
