Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Lauri is paid $46M+ for the next four years. That alone makes it hard to find destinations for him. It’s also a number so high that he will have to maintain a very high level of play to justify in the first place. The borderline all star level of play doesn’t automatically mean max player nowadays in this apron CBA.

Teams all over the place are tightening their belts and being more cautious about spending. Yes, it is known that Lauri’s last season doesn’t completely define him, but it has definitely done damage to his trade value. To act otherwise is just wishful thinking.

dumb for tony to make that call right now and dumb for anybody to put any stock in it right now. even if he has some inside knowledge, too much changes over the next month and a half.

Damn….is a man not able to answer a question? It’s not like he’s making a report.

"no idea, it's too early" is an acceptable, even respectable answer.

otoh, the dude is just making a prediction which i have no problem with - i should have just gone with it being dumb to put any stock into it as if it means anything.

He literally said “I don’t know” in the tweet. You take this so seriously for no reason lol. Think it’s insane to have an expectation that people can’t speculate on the draft in a tweet.

i agree. i edited before you posted. my comment was hypocritical. i said a week ago Ace would be the #3 overall pick regardless of draft order. which i still believe, ftr.

Rafael Barlowe said he was told some players wore orthotics in their socks to boost height lmao. I think it was some of the smaller guards who magically didnt measure out to be that small.

This sounds stupid, but I did think that there were a lot of guys taller than I had expected. I’m not one to stress about the measurements too much so I think it’s funny. Lot of money on the line, I would be wearing 18 pairs of socks with orthotics and then sandbag my vert.

yeah, i think that's fairly common every draft. i just add about 1.25" to no shoes measurements and ignore anything more than a 1.5" boost.

Fans react way too strongly to Lauri's bad recent season. I dont think most teams are doing the same. People know he was put in a position to fail.

He's 7' Klay Thompson. He's a game changer for the right roster. The Spurs would be my favorite to win it next year if they get Lauri next to Fox/Wemby assuming they can fill out the back end of their rotation with some quality.
Agree. This season was all about our young players and tanking. Hardy wanted to focus on developing the young guys, didn’t draw up plays for Lauri nearly as much, urged him to “practice” during games (iso and quicker contested shots), etc. Things would've obviously been different if we’d played to win and had a competitive team.

is getting to complain about not hitting in the lottery, while still getting top 4 talent better than getting the 3rd or 4th pick this year?
The best part will be all the people that were pissed that we were "stuck with Tre" be pissed when he is selected ahead of our draft spot.

Yeah, especially for PG's who might be 6'1 or under. You go from undersized to acceptable pretty quickly.

Just finished watching a full Tre game. Tre is just a pure shot maker, wow. He took some ill advised shots but a lot of them were going in. He needs to work on ball security. He has high skill level which led to his turnovers. He isn’t given enough credit for his defense. He’s no Key or Sexton on that side. He gives effort and is able to stay in front of his man. He’s not a Jimmy Butler but he has definite potential to be a plus defender. He could definitely

What game? I am watching Xavier now.

VJ is probably going #3 because Ace is a horrible fit with Philly philosophically and timeline wise.

Ace gets to #5 if the Hornets choose anyone else. I have no idea what the Hornets value though. The Saluan pick was a catastrophe and them trying to scam the Lakers was... really strange. Their new GM has done almost nothing other than those two moves.

Would the Jazz take Ace at #5? Maybe? He fits the disappointing blue chip prospect that Ainge loves.
