Cody Williams is such a negative, I don't know how you can give any grade higher than a D if Williams is involved. He is not just an F he is a zero. I would trade him, if anyone would trade for him. His shot is just broken.
Not sure how some here can give that pick an F when most here were pretty excited for the pick. Drafting prospects outside the top 3-5 is a huge crapshoot.

Can't go above a C tier until we see what Hendrix can do. Filip is a major plus but Cody is a major minus. Key is a slight negative whereas Brice is a slight positive. So basically all cancelled each other out to an "average" grade of C.

I’ll give him a solid B.

I wanted any of Black, Walker or Coulibaly in 23, but they were gone and DA didn’t want to burn assets moving up. Hendricks was my highest rated player at that point and I think it was a solid pick.

Keyonte gets a lot of hate, but he’s one of the better players from that draft class. I think he’d fills the Jordan Clarkson 6th man role for the near future. I liked the pick at the time, and still do.

I did not like the Brice Sensabaugh pick (mostly due to injury concerns) and I was wrong about that one. Great pick at that point. (I personally wanted GG, but can understand why everyone passed - still think he’d have been a solid get.)

I had Buzelis as my guy last year, so that one’s a D for me (although I still have a lot of hope for Cody to prove me wrong). This is the only truly bad pick that I didn’t love - although Cody’s hype made me not hate it either. Now he just needs to live up to it.

Collier was a slam dunk and Filipowski was as well (although I struggled to decide between him and Furphy after round 1 ended.) Probably his best two picks in the two seasons he’s been here.

We don’t have all the information at hand like they do, especially the mental and psychological side of things which is a huge determination of a player’s success.

We expect most guys coming i to the draft to “want it”, but there are levels to that.

You gotto want it to succeed in this League.

i never thought Cody was good. always claimed he was way overrated. the one player i wanted the jazz not to take. then i watched him and realized i was completely wrong. he is much worse than i thought. this isnt 20/20 hindsight. i thought it was obvious.

Cody's lack of motor doesn't concern me as much as his apparent lack of fundamental skills at this level. Also his lack of strength and bulk is concerning as well.

I said 'B.'
Filipowski, Sensabaugh and Collier are all very good picks for the late 1st or early 2nd round.
Hendrix at #9 was fine, but the Jazz probably could have been more aggressive in trading up for Ausar or Bilal.
Last Year, I wanted Cody Williams, so I can't criticize too much. However, coming into the Combine at 178 lbs should have raised concerns, and his casual demeanor and lack of intensity must have been apparent in his team workout (which people say went well). I haven't given up on Cody due to the flashes he's shown on defense.

Don't forget his 36 point game with the Stars.

IMO it's less about who we've picked, but where we've picked, that's been the biggest problem so far. He's had mid-late lotto / mid-late firsts in two "meh" drafts.

At the time of the draft, Sensabaugh has been the only pick so far where I thought to myself - "huh." And he's been fine for a 28th pick.

I'll also add, these dudes are all still super young, and it's hard to realistically expect trajectory-changing players when we're picking at 9 or later.

A solid B seems fair to me, but closer to a B- than a B+ for me. Keyonte/Brice/Collier/Flip are all good to really good picks in my opinion given the range and the options. Hendricks was unfortunate, management even said as much with him being the #9 guy on their board. He was supposed to be raw and it was obviously really unfortunate he went down with injury when he did. I was personally super high on Cody going into the draft so hindsight falls especially flat for me, but pick is looking disastrous. Hopefully he comes back from summer looking improved, otherwise he could be keeping Johnny Davis company before his rookie contract is up.

So more good than bad, but the bad has been at the most important picks. Hendricks was supposed to be raw and got injured and Cody was a project, so time will tell, but if I am just operating off what we have right now that's how I feel.

I was telling you guys this during draft season and summer league. I somehow had the info. If you didn’t have the info why did you call him Paul George?

B- Had he taken Matas instead of Cody I would give him an A. Its a tough one though because a much better wing was selected right after the wing you took who looks tragic. Basically he did good work but flunked the final so ends up with a okayish grade.

Well, obviously. However, I don't understand folks who are so upset about drafting Cody that drop him to Cs for that pick alone. It is incredibly hard to draft 18 year-olds and every great GM has duds along with solid selections. Ainge was right for 5 picks out of 6 - that is a great batting average. Especially, since picking around 9-16 is very different from picking in the 3-5 range: you have to bet on the upside and rapid development of clearly flawed young players.

We make our predictions with the caveat of limited information.

DA doesn't have that same excuse after $$$ spent on scouts, scouting trips, draft analysts and workouts.
You posted highlights of PG In summer league swearing up and down he was the same damn player and criticized me and basically told me I was dumb. Have you no decency??

Kind of sucks that our highest picks have been the two most disappointing ones( still early on Cody and injury-related on Hendricks), but this has to matter. I was thinking B initially but IMO you just have to hit on the highest picks much better than we have. I'd probably give it a C/C+ thereabout.
