I think he is wishcasting a bit. He really likes Tre and Ace for the Jazz.I think he's held that view for a while.

IT was just a hypothetical.VJ at 3 sounds like a massive smokescreen… just saying.
They might take Tre there, maybe Kon or Maluach? Don’t see Ace but maybe.IT was just a hypothetical.
Tanking the entire season to draft Maluach and trade Kessler for future picks would be depressing ngl.
Its lying season. Lie about stuff and then see what phone calls come in. The philly thing with VJ has a little bit too much detail that it feels like they absolutely want it out there. I am sure they are interested but projecting that interest is purposeful. It would be a disaster, imo. If the Jazz are showing interest in Maluach, I'd assume it's just to bait other teams.
This. They are diff players, but the hope would be Maluach would be as impactful overall (again, different ways) as Kessler.I just think him becoming as good as Kessler is an upper level outcome for him. We already have Kessler, and I like watching Walker play.
He's awesome but I do see the flaws. If we take him I hope he is one of those guys that just figures it out.Kon makes up for lack of athleticism with strength and skill, but the lack of athleticism is striking at times. There are a few plays I'm watching where it's hard to see that same play working in the NBA. For example he's on a fast break and has to stutter step before gathering to go up for a layup. That shot is getting blocked in the NBA.
He's just so likeable though. His rim finishing numbers are because he is so good at finding angles to avoid shot blockers and he's just completely unafraid of mixing it up down low. His off ball movement is fantastic. His catch and shoot is so pure. I wish he took more pull ups.
I can't quite get on board with taking him at 5, and I hope the Kon lovers will forgive me, but I would still be extremely happy if the Jazz end up with him.
Ingles was also huge and Kon isnt. He's awesome but I do see the flaws. If we take him I hope he is one of those guys that just figures it out.
One of my favorite plays from Kon he tries to cross a guy up ends up losing balance at the rim and falls to the floor... then lands on the ball and immediately finds someone for an And 1. I think Joe is a great comp in some ways. I think you will just be like "how does he keep doing this" because of the aesthetic and speed at which things happen.
Similar to Joe I think there is a world where you think "man Kon was soooo good tonight" and you look down and he had 13 pts and 4 assists but it felt like 20+.
not sure i follow. even hayward, who is taller/longer and a much more functional athlete, wasn't drafted until 9th overall. the fact Kon is seriously being discussed as a top 5 overall pick - i'm not sure it's possible for a player of his archetype to have more hype.If Hayward was in his prime, Kon would have more hype. Not because they are similar as players, but because of reasons.
Yeah and there are a number of successful popular white players if that's what he was hinting at.not sure i follow. even hayward, who is taller and a much more functional athlete, wasn't drafted until 9th overall.
Not a direct comp per se. Kon is also a flame thrower and Joe was not originally... and Kon got that thiccness downstairs that Ingles ain't got.Ingles was also huge and Kon isnt.

Its the high level connective piece part of Joe's game that gives some similarities.
yep. Flagg would be one from this very draft - i mean, we sure as hell expect him to be successful anyway.Yeah and there are a number of successful popular white players if that's what he was hinting at.
