Understand going for the safe role player vs trying to swing for upside.

The Jazz have spent the last few drafts without any clear starting level player. Kon might not ever be an all star, but he can be an elite level role player which is better than wasting another pick on a guy with severe gaps in their game.
You don't swing you don't hit a home-run...

You can’t single your way to a championship.

If Kon is elite at multiple skills like shooting, passing, ball handling, IQ, etc but not athletic maybe he is worth taking at #5

I agree that Kon is safe….don’t necessarily think he’s lower potential than the other options. I think #5 is fairly weak this year, however, and Kon potentially going 4 or 5 reflects that.

I think we missed out on swinging for the fences by not getting the #1 or #2. After Flagg I don't see a bonafide star and even though Harper looks the part of an NBA star I'm not sold on him either. After that though I think any of these guys could be great or a total bust so I'd be totally fine drafting an elite shooter and then hoping we find our home run elsewhere.

There needs to be an option that is not extreme. In the 5th spot it is a crapshoot so I would be wait and see. I was impressed with him the few times I watched Duke play.

Kon has a unique finishing style. Can't remember a player who pump fakes as much as he does. He actually seems to get the step on his defender quite easy, but he'll slow down, pump fake, than body up his defender to get space for the shot. His finishing %'s are pretty great so maybe no reason to worry, but I would love it he showed that he could challenge the rim with a little more athleticism. He probably just doesn't have the athleticism to do it so this is what he does.

Kind of fun to watch his bully ball style though.

Jazz need players who want to play team concept ball
Kon fits the bill
He wants to pass. He wants to rebound. He wants to make the good shot.
He wants to defend. Etc

If Kon can shoot 64% TS, play team basketball, defend and rebound like he did in college; I don't care how vanilla he looks doing it.
