For Kessler? Only if they put up Reaves which they won’t.

Don’t think the Bulls have any use for Key.
I don’t know why it combined those two lol. I was typing that out yesterday.

For Kessler they absolutely do. Turn our 2027 protected first into a pick swap.

2026/2031 firsts plus 2028/2030/2032 pick swaps plus Dalton Knecht.

i didn't carefully avoid any unreliable stats. defensive stats are largely a joke. that said, i'll admit key isn't a good defender and needs to be better. most young guys aren't good defenders.

I mean, OK, but Keyonte was not a highly regarded prospect entering the NBA because teams thought he was way too small to play NBA caliber defense at SG and Keyonte has responded by being arguably the worst defender in the NBA these last two years.

His defensive tools are awful and his performance has been worse. Keyonte managed to get benched on a 17 win team.

Maybe it's time to widen your perspective?

The kid came into the best league in the world and started taking reps as the lead guard—something that was a big stretch for him. There were times when he really rose to the challenge. And there were times he didn't do so well. Obviously. Unsurprisingly.

Anyone who isn't interested to see what what his 3rd year looks like—especially if he's playing more at a natural position—needs to have their poopy diaper changed asap.

You need to work in sales. Lets also admit that Keyonte was the worst defender on the worst defensive team in the NBA history.

I think it'll be Keyonte or Cody. If it's Cody, I feel it'll be too early to give up on him. I still think he'll improve immensely another year or two. Seeing his brother play in the nba finals will motivate more or his brother will. But that's just me.
I hope it's Cody

I don't really want Dalton Knecht.
That trade would be about the picks for the jazz.

Yeah but his brother should take responsibility.

Surely he wants his little brother to succeed.
Responsibility, or credit? I mean he already patted himself on the back in an interview a week ago or so:

"I think what makes me most emotional is probably just for a lot of my hard work, Cody doesn’t have to go through it. He was able to just get recruited the right way and obviously get to the NBA deservingly. A lot of that stems from just I think a lot of the struggles I had." - Jalen Williams

Key is a 17 and 6, mildly inefficient 21 year old second year player. he has value. It's also why I wouldn't trade him now.

Don't want to keep throwing down on Key but he is a negative impact player in every way except maybe passing? And that just isn't enough as a lead ballhandler or a high volume shot taker or a high level role player.

Let's say he improves to 42/36/85 splits and gets to league average TS% (56% for PG and 57% for SG). He is currently at 53%.

That still wouldn't be enough to be a starter or a role player on an NBA playoff team because of how negative he is on the defensive end. I suppose it's a less good version of Anfernee Simons, who the Blazers are trying to trade to make room for other prospects.

It was really disappointing that he wasn't able to make progress in his 2nd year. It's hard to be optimistic when the trendline is flat.

He's just expendable and the fact that he still young and has potential is the only reason he has any value, trade wise.
